Circlip is on the inside of mine so the opposite to what Pure say, I had to switch them round as my beam had a raised section on the other side so they wouldn't of been level. I spoke with Nick at the time and he thought it would be fine but that is all I can think has caused the problem. (Not...
Yes you did but I'm certainly not blaming them for it it could be a number of things just not sure what is the cause or consequence. Thanks :)
Yeah course mate, I'll let you know Thursday whether I'm coming over or coming Friday morning
The beam itself is mint mate and I'm gutted as its such a...
Really productive day on the clio today! Massive thanks to Mike Woodford for coming and giving me a hand for the day he was coming upto Chips tomorrow but really kindly offered his help as soon as he heard about the off at Oulton in order to try and get me out for Donington but still came and...
Found the gearbox problem! The bolts that hold the two parts of the casing together are really loose! Doh! Will get it over to Agency and see what the damage is from running probably very low on oil :(
Lol got to be boring and maximise what I have :(! What tyres was the meg on?
Honestly the session I first did on them I was sideways everywhere I thought it was a goner every time lol!
Yes I will let you know :) it will be on the test day 3rd November I will try them
I think you might be correct the actual g round the corners was very similar so a new set and setup to the car could be quicker! Maybe have a play with a new set over winter and do a proper comparison :)
I have but not on this car mate. No real interest to either in all honesty, don't get me...
Haha yes very true :) Thanks mate!
Yes that does sound lucky! I was was very lucky too really thanking my lucky stars :) Yes i'm planning on popping down so will come and find you!
Got mine round in under 2 yesterday when it was just me in the car (only one brief session) Plenty of time on the...
I don't know mate I have no experience of these cars in road form.
Exactly, scrap bin at my mates place and get him to ally weld it together and job done :)
I'd be making 8 if I said yes to everyone who's asked haha ;)
Let me see how I get on with it and i'll test it to check it works if so i'll let you know and I can either send you details of how I did it or i'm sure I can chuck a few more together. Main priority is it actually does the job so...
I defiantly had a oil starvation issue at Mallory the low pressure went hand in hand with the G, just been through the datalogs from yesterday at Oulton and no such problem so can't see how its anything engine related to cause the low pressure. Just certain corners and the duration I suppose. I...
Thanks everyone :) Had a really good day apart from that, great to catch up with some old faces! Thanks also to Fred for taking the day off work and coming up bloody legend :)
Just got in now as been in the garage, cars is stripped down need to get the engine out tomorrow once i've compression...
No not too bad thanks! Basically was going into island ( left hander 4th gear nearly flat) and the car just swapped ends not slide but swapped! Was doing about 100 straight towards the wall and went straight into the tyre wall! Thankfully put the car into a spin and scrubbed off some speed but...
Went a bit of the beaten track at Oulton today :( Had to withdraw from the Donington race on Saturday as won't get the car fixed but not much damage just have to remove the gearbox and engine but I'm working up till the weekend so no time to fix :(
Thanks Ian, Yes I think that still wouldn't fit in my bay with the subframe, oil cooler and radiator. Looks an awesome bit of engine you have got yourself :)
Yes it does look like a great way to end the season! The clio team doesn't seem to of had any interest so i'll just tag on with my...
Yes it was just oil starvation mate, round the hairpin there is a drop in oil pressure which correlates to the G the car was subjected to. Making a baffled sump for it but i'm not going to have it done for Oulton or racing at Donny next weekend so fingers crossed :)
Lol I didn't have an alarm...
Thanks Mark much appreciated :)
Yes I will get some ordered, should have a laser temp gauge arriving in the morning :)
Yes I agree mate just would rather not run it if possible!
Thanks Colin :) Spoken with him tonight! You need to come and try the roundy round stuff ;)
I can't say to be...
No I don't Kenny but I will get one :)
Yes I just spoke with Gripper and they said the same thing about it frothing :(
Gripper are thinking along the same lines as me that its working the diff hard coming through the hairpin at Mallory. I'm at Oulton next week so i'll see how it goes there...
When I come in off track the gearbox is too hot too touch yet I can touch the sump of the engine so its definitely getting pretty toasty lol! No unfortunately not as it did it first time at Mallory too and then had the oil dropped and replaced to the level was checked and also checked it a few...
Been a busy few days on the Clio getting it ready after Mallory. A few problems to contend with which i'm just working out a solution for at the moment. I was getting oil surge in the race round the slow hairpin corner so looking at baffling the sump at the moment, aiming to get that complete...
Right just had a dig around for more info on the Birkett 6hr relay race.
The entry fee is £1450 + £20 club membership per driver. Minimum of 3 cars/drivers, Maximum of 6 cars/drivers. So entry including plenty of quali time and 1hr of race time would be as little as £266.66 including the cost...
