Re: ***How much is my car worth?***
I have a very similar spec car (shockingly so in fact - 54 plate, 75k, belts done etc) but with a sports exhaust. I'd be expecting £4500-5000 for mine so you're probably about right on £4.5-4.8k.
I have the Supersport but no decat. Sounds good without being daft! Awesome over 5k revs but not too loud on long motorway journies. Highly recommended!
Custom built is probably the answer.
I have a Janspeed Supersport which is well made and a good sound without being stupid for everyday/motorway use.
I would have gone down the Yozza route, but had about 2 days to decide what to go for when mine failed it's MOT with a similar problem to yours...
You can never be too old for a fun car IMO!
Little story from Donington Park a few weeks back. Myself and a mate, both mid 20s walked past a really old couple (70s easily) sat having a picnic lunch in a brand new Porsche 911 GT3! We both joked that he must drive like a codger, doing 30 down...
Good choice on the exhaust. The Supersport one sounds that little bit better! I was playing in some tunnels with mine this afternoon, deafening everyone else :)
Yesterday around 15:45 - Blue 172 pulled over my the police. Hopefully nothing too serious.
He was also following me further down the motorway!
Saw a 172 Flamer going the other way at the same time too!
That is almost identical as the scenario when I bought mine. 54 plate, 59k, £5k but mine was purchased in April 09. I'll be selling it within the next few months and I don't expect to lose too much on 70-odd k miles.
Mine has been on for this reason for about 2k miles. Plenty of pressing on to warm everything up in that time, but the light still hasn't gone out! Strange!
No front end respray that I'm aware of though it could do with one to cover all the stone chips everywhere. I bought it for driving though rather than aesthetics so the bumper / splitter / tax disc etc don't worry me :)
Amazingly I found an RB 182 FF about 40 minutes from home, good nick and one of the cheapest on the market at the time. It was the first one that I looked at, about 2 days after I decided to buy a 182 :)
Sometimes these things just work out, but to be honest it seems a good RB is hard to...
