i think i must of been too nice to people in this game although i had to get out of megaton as every f**ker was shooting me. i'm now stuck at the doctor li bug:dapprove:

just got my copy of it now but yet to fire it up. only cost 9.99 with the ipoints i had :)

it's not a problem of running ubuntu as i've got a p4 with a nvidia 8400 GS in at the mo that runs ubuntu ok but can't handle HD videos it's just whether it would be pointless getting say a nvidia 9600 GT to go in it if it unable to get the most out of it

nope it's the actual board is limited to x4 mode. the board has on-board vga which is the intel x4500HD but that seems to have major issues with ubuntu so i was just going to get a graphics card to go in the slot but i didn't think it would be worth while with a x4 slot. anything really...

I've just ordered myself some new parts to build a HTPC so on reading about whether it will work with ubuntu. i found out that it has a x16 PCI-e slot but only runs in x4 mode it's a Gigabyte EG45M-DS2H mother board. i'm just wondering is it worth swapping it for something else or can you...

i've yet to find a decent FTP software for Ubuntu i'd just type ftp into add/remove software and go through any that come up and give the ones you like a try

well being as they are both RMS (meaning the square root of the mean squared) they would both be horizontal lines the music one being lower than the other

yes i do know how JL ask you to check the voltage at the speaker terminals (being as i have a 1000/1) but all voltmeters give you a RMS value. so yes it would look constant on a voltmeter but it doesn't look so constant on a cro

what I'm saying is that you can't just say a 50Hz sine wave is a flat line then say music isn't flat even if it just an ANALOGY

well this is 50Hz @ 0dB on a CRO

not really no as it isn't i'd say you would have to have a picture as they say a 1000 words

all sine waves have peaks and troughs (music and pure tones) just pure tones have a regular rise and fall between the two limits of it's output and music change in height and distance apart

due to the fact the recording level is set by the highest level and that music wouldn't be music if was sung/played at all the same level.
