Interesting as I too loved the RSR but found the edges would wear very quickly on them. Whereas the NS2R has a much squarer shoulder and stood up better to wear in that area. Also prefer the NS2R in the wet.
If that’s a genuine trend, it’s a difficult one to try and explain as to why.
All I could suggest would be possibly a manufacturing issue, or something thats different on the OS that may cause more moisture to accumulate in that area?
I would suggest there is possibly a grommet or something...
Whilst the MPS is a great all weather tyre, its nothing compared to the sidewall stiffness and dry weather grip that the OP is looking for.
From AD08s to a PS3 i think will be a disappointment.
An NS2R in either compound makes a superb dry grip tyre if you don't mind the tyre noise. I daily'd...
So when i first got the car back last June, i quickly popped off the rear door cards to have a look at the extent of any possible corrosion back there, and if i needed to act urgently on anything. Fortunately it all looked okay and i just dumped a load of Waxoyl on it and left it for another...
@NorthloopCup @Eddie555
Cheers for the heads up boys, not something I’m currently planning on but good for thought.
@Tom Johnson, care to drop me a price for a Clio rear cage with harness bar(s).
Be interested in a price for both CDS and the same in T45. 🙂
Out if interest.
Does anyone make a T45 half cage for the Clio? Be lovely to have a proper little Clubsport type car but don’t fancy dumping a load of weight in it. I’m guessing most of the half cages out there are standard 38mm CDS?
I was in two minds myself mate.
I was tempted to do an Instagram poll... then I remembered I don’t really care what anyone else thinks anyways. 😂
We’ll see how long it lasts, I can always rip it off and it’s not like I’ve tattooed my face. 😂
No worries. Most of the cars front and rear panels are covered in Dynax. Doesn’t look pretty but I’m not fussed about that I just want to preserve what I have left lol
No, I’ve ordered some silver to do my original set, but I’m waiting for the paint to arrive. I’ve prepped the bullets and sprayed with Upol adhesion promoter.
Now they just await some colour and clearcoat.
So to finish up, I dusted the lifting eyes with some zinc and satin black before refitting those.
There was also some lengths of M6 stainless cap heads I didn’t have in stock so I’ll get some more of those, namely for the coil pack and such.
Boxed the rest of the car up this morning and called...
VHT wrinkle black. No primer required and as VHT reacts with other paints, it’s needs to be very clean. So Nitromors or blast what you already have and get it back to bare metal.
Then go direct to clean metal. 👍🏼
Started the strip down for the cam cover paint today.
Spent a good hour or more prepping and cleaning the cover with a mix of various things, Billberry wheel cleaner, iron x, brake cleaner, various wire wheel fittings in a drill to get the cover as clean as possible.
Then rinsed and washed...
If it’s any use, I’ve just fitted the Nissen 63855A into my 182 with AC.
Also said on eBay that it wouldn’t fit my vehicle. I can confirm it’s perfect.
It’s all expensive stuff mate, but it sounds like lots was changed at the same time and you end up chasing your tail with some of this stuff.
I can’t abide knocks or rattles. You’re a smart chap so maybe start methodically and work your way through.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
Will do mate. I fricken hate rattles and any kind of unnecessary NVH. I’m tempted to add some Lightweight Dynamat to the car in a few places just to tighten it up. The honeycomb exhaust mount made a surprising difference to any boom from the rear. I’ll report back on the U rubber. 👌🏼
Spent the last few days cleaning and prepping some engine bay bits to be painted. Ported/matched inlets, fuel rail guard, engine mount bracket the usual suspects.
Got these in paint yesterday. Overall I think they have come out reasonably well and should help clean the standard engine bay up...
Lovely car and some great updates.
Nice job on starting your tool collection too. Good quality tools will last you a lifetime if you look after them and always really satisfying getting your own jobs done like this. 🙂👍🏼
I had a standard cup packed 182 and although it looked better. I distinctly remember my car being worse to drive after fitting Eibach sportlines to the car.
That wasn’t because they’re a bad spring but I think as soon as you lower these cars the negative affects on the geometry become pretty...
