Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Please don’t look up Porsche window seals then. 😂 Porsche parts are funny things. Anything performance related is absolutely outrageous, I mean full on bonkers expensive. Most OEM parts are bloody steep and then you occasionally find something you expect to be expensive and it’s weirdly cheap...

For what they cost, I’d bloody love to see them. 😂

    Fuel Filler Cap hinge

You’re welcome to buy one. But I wanted a genuine OEM one as I wasn’t prepared to have it arrive at the BodyShop and be a poor fit.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Almost out of Clio jobs to do and am struggling to get paint for the bullets and ally engine parts. Excitement during lockdown got the better of me to fitted these up to the Cayman today. RRS semi solid transmission mounts. For obvious reasons I’ve only driven around the block to check for...

    Fuel Filler Cap hinge

Not new it isn’t. New it’s only available as part of the fuel door, it all PIA. Cost about £50. Ask me how I know. 😅

Big Steve's RB Clio 182 Cup Restoration

Pukka job Steve. Don’t forget to seal it up behind to stop it coming back. 🙂👍🏼

Other option is powdercoat or soda blast 🤷🏽‍♂️

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Yeah undecided on colour yet though. Thinking wrinkle black at the mo.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

It’s a ported and matched item so I don’t care it doesn’t have RS on it. I can always draw the letters on with felt pen 😁

Yeah nobody wants a silly silver cooler hanging out the front of their car do they. 😅

Old AC condenser out, nice new matte black one in. 😃

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

You may remember when I replaced the radiator I found the AC condenser to be rotted through at the bottom. So I ordered a new one, which arrived today, unfortunately our friends at FedEx decided to damage for me by bending the top row of fins by bending the brackets. The distributor was superb...

    Drilling out spot welds

Firstly I’d do what Eddie suggested about a clean up, treat and paint. If you have to replace it and have a normal welder you can just plug weld it where the spot welds would be. Spot weld removal drills are available from Toolstation/screw fix etc.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Had it left over from the Impreza mate. Came from AP Racing years ago. Pretty sure Tweeks would sell it. The Clio has no fixings to support the lines so it’s mega important you check they’re orientated to not foul on steering lock. Added the wrap as a belt & braces. 😏

I wanted a sunstrip on mine but assume this makes the auto wipers redundant?

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Hadn’t thought about converting the front, it was just the first thing I thought of when the rear ones snapped. The plastic for trees are pennies and I’ve a load of them, so I’ll continue with those at the mo. 👍🏼

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Project lockdown. So having cleaned and protected the front panel when I did the rad, today I wanted to pop the rear bumper off and check the rear. Instantly turned into a longer job than expected as both the rear arch liner fixings sheared clean off. Great!! #facepalm So I decided to grind...

    BG 182

You won’t need to paint those grilles dude, just get some Carpro Perl on there with a 4:1 mix. Mine have never been painted and are 125k miles old now. Also now you’ve done a lovely job on the headlight lenses, get some ceramic coat on there, as they will have a UV barrier and stop them from...

Big Steve's RB Clio 182 Cup Restoration

I had mine done and bought a brand new fuel door for the hinge. As like you found the hardware needs cutting off in most cases. The rear needs underselling I think to properly protect it in future. Another job I did was add some PPF where the rear bumper meets the rear arch as this gets grit...

Got the DeWalt DCF899 at home. So far been a great bit of kit with plenty of torque. its a big old lump though. 😅
