Had my Metrovac Air Force Blaster for years now but swapped to a Blo hand held.
Retail over £200 now, so I'd let it go for £100.
Get the alignment checked first, see if the garage is willing to do it for free based on the premise that if anything is bent, you'll be back to have it done and paid for.
Doing it by eye always looks right but very rarely is it even close to being right in my experience.
P0120 is throttle pedal circuit right?
Usually a wiring issue 99% of the time, but if everything is good like you've checked, it's worth trying the spare pedal.

Seems weird how you'd want it valved for a higher/lower rate than the spring you're trying to dampen.
Like you say, they're good for a couple kg either side anyway as standard.
Try activating auto lights by having the ignition on position one and then turn the sidelights on off, on off in fairly quick succession.
You should hear a beep to confirm it's been done.
