yep, standard disc. 3 years and 9 months old
when i took it off there were actually 3 cracks and heat marks. the cracks were not visible until 3 weeks into the noise happening under breaking. it even passed an mot just under 3 weeks into the noise. the crack appeared 2 days after mot! lol
if this was happening on the rear slightly how woukld i check it? jack it up and spin the wheel?
if it was biting on slightly how would it be fixed? wind the piston in? clean the slider plate and copper grease it?
sorry if they are stupid questions, just wanted to check, had to fork out £200...
is it a grinding noise or a loud vibrating noise?
mine were vibrating then a crack formed. i think it was the pad biting on the disc slightly (getting it hot) then with breaking it would make the noise because it was getting too hot.
could it be that?
its easy to do if you take you're time. needs sanding, cleaning, priming, painting and laquering properly.
there is a skill to it but i have sprayed lots of things in the past, bike frames etc.
recently sprayed my side mirrors dark antharcite, very pleased with the results.
i have sprayed some plastic bits and bobs before. as said, it needs prepping properly. possibly plastic primer?
they probably just wanted to give it a quick spray and not put any time and effort in. find somewhere else imo
mine seems to do this too. i think my rear left brake is binding slightly. my disc recently cracked due to excess heat.
what needs to be done to stop the brake binding? if it is that
i had a vibrating type noise from the rear brakes for a while, 3 weeks later a big crack appeared!
check for any signs of cracks.
are there any signs of heat marks on the disc's? (blue circles around the disc etc)
