Yes yes yes, was planning on getting an abingdon test day for Jan, but canne anymore so Bedford will be the first one.! pauls booked with his 250 also!
are you mate?
Yeah thats fair enough, i wouldn't spend the money on ASTs if it wasn't going on track a lot/racing, you just wouldn't notice the difference enough to justify the cost.
Yeah i mean the b14s are under that, as you can get them from Germany which is like £500 instead.
What is budget? I'm presuming around £600 is from the coilovers mentioned above.
For predominantly road use i don't think you can go wrong with b14s probably the most recommended for road, i think Spax market the RSX at a more track usage.
Inc :
-braided 197 lines, alloy pin kit.
although the bleed nipples were stripped on the calliper so need machining, which I could get done.
New and improved, much better design than standard.
Yep, so used:
-Chris Powells Brembo brackets £180
-197 callipers and braided brake lines second hand £80
-Standard 280mm discs
5mm needs taking off the mounting surface of the brembos, and that's about it. I'm using a 5mm spacer on these wheels, could get away with none but need a bit more...
So managed to find some time inbetween the rain and the wind.
Rear asts are on
Brembos are on.
Wheels test fitted.
Made up some brackets to stop the bumper sagging in the middle due to running no slam panel.
They will be swapped for some snapable metal, and not steel.
Yeah the daily will go before i break it so we should be good! Thanks though!
Thanks Dan, its starting to look like car now, although the rest of the stuff that needs doing is out of my hands, so I'm even more excited.
Yeah really gonna push towards one of these apprenticeships!
Thanks bud, yeah was mint! and yeah not alot left to do on it at all.
My insurance is still running on the clio so might just stop paying the beemer Insurance for a bit and run the track car as a daily haha.
Thanks bud, feel quite deflated not that annoyed just feeling that I've let people down (family, girfriend) but yeah I'll get over it.
I forecasted what my income would be with the few events in that time, which would of covered costs.
But now I have no income to cover costs and Christmas's...
Not a lot of progress recently due to Christmas festivities with spending a bomb in fuel driving to Nowich then to onto devon and back, but hey.
Went to try fit the ASTs but unfortunately the top nut to hold them into the PMS top mounts is to big, so will need to ring Nick for a replacement...
Unfortunately this is probably not the one for you if you don't want the hassle.
Fun for when it lasts.
I believe there is 2 groups , the main CSOC and a scottish one.
There was definitely a problem previously about it chewing up belts, so being rebuilt a couple of times down to this.
But didn't read to much into it as above.
For future reference with the subframe, put a plank of wood stretching across the middle of the subframe the the jack in the middle, easy to do on your own etc
Glad you got another ph1 to replace the ph1.
This has had no end of problems, and has been passed about a lot.
By all if you want it as a base for you to rebuild the engine/wiring its perfect al be it probably a tad expensive.
Yeah I mean you can't piss about in class A, gotta splash out on diff and bodies [emoji16]
Think I'll save that money and spend it on entry and license for the year, and extinguisher and protective clothing etc.
The list contours, well all I can say is merry Christmas's and good luck with...
Also in this situation... I really want to get my car to be class A spec but I just don't see it being viable money wise.
So I'm pretty certain it will be built to prod plus for a season then slowly build it higher.
Didn't know induction kits were not aloud but that makes sense.
I canne wait to take some...well inspiration from you building up this car especially with the electrics side of things.
Currently one thing I'm struggling with the most.
Really not many updates to elaborate on due to Christmas coming up etc.
Well I picked up the ASTs, I haven't fitted them yet as I didn't have the right nuts to fit the rear dampers, hopefully gonna use the nuts from the old dci and see if they fit.
Secondly I received the linger linkage...
Haha a lot of people seem to be having problems with their nuts...
and yes mate I was with him last night, yeah he showed me a few photos of your set up!
or we can pester him and get him to make us some like he's got ;)
annnd yeah according to above renault ones will fit, so if that's the...
