Firstly I'd look at 200 over the 197. As said, meganes are possible, but after the Honda the reliability and build quality will shock you.
Something like a Leon fr/Cupra would give you more fun without losing refinement etc. And an easy way to more power.
I've always found bumper off ends up being the easiest option with clios. Doesn't take long with practice, I can whip the bumper off the Meg, change both bulbs and put it together in about 30mins these days.
No, but a friend just went from a mk6 gti, to a mk7 r dsg (wrist injury means he has to have an auto these days, so he's excused). Bored senseless by the r, so he's ordered a mk7 gti pp, says it feels much more agile/fun than the r.
Arb and alk are definitely going on, lsd will have to wait.
I very nearly binned the m3 in similar circumstances. Off camber exit which can be sketchy in a fwd car. Decided a bit more throttle was sensible. Halfway through the second rotation I realized it probably wasn't.
Golf r needs spanking before it comes alive. Brilliant when you do, but also license losing territory.
In a few years, a used 86, sc'd will be very tempting.
Generally it seems to be the kits that use resistors to fool bulb monitoring systems that cause problems. On vag, the 'canbus Safe' kits have been known to blow wiper motors etc.
They definitely self clear once there's no fault in my experience. When I fitted seats /wheels in the past I've often forgot to order resistors, run for a few days with the airbag light on, fit resistors and the light goes out.
My head unit has CarPlay and Android auto. Android version is miles ahead atm. Voice search works perfectly, Google maps is very good. It's still too limited, they need to get more apps adapted.

Tested objectively and subjectively on a golf.
Not every tyre suits every car. Michelin will work better on some cars than others.
All I can say, is that the cs5 had been brilliant for me.
Ps3's are over rated imo, the ps2 was a better performance tyre. Iirc the ps3 replaced the pilot exalto, and the super sport the ps2.
Continental 5's are good, Hankook are brilliant for the money.
I'd go 15% over 17% unless you're planning further mods (cams etc). And I was specifically advised to avoid airtec! Ended up with a gp intercooler, which is definitely the best if you can get one, but they go used for the same as airtec etc new.
Grs motorsport is the one to go for if gp isn't...
