It appears they've changed then and he has the correct one.

New cable doesn't look genuine, unless they've changed the design.

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

Yeah it's worth pumping the pedal at the same time, that's what I do with my pressure bleeder. Just don't press the pedal all the way down, it can flip the seals in the master cylinder. Failing that you may have a bit of air in the abs unit, which you'll need Clip or RSTuner for.

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

What are you using to bleed? Manual method or a pressure bleeder?

Yeah Unilite have a good rep from what I've seen. I've got the small Milwaukee one which can hang up on things and takes the M18 batteries.

    Power Tool Perverts

I think if you're only busting nuts and bolts at a few hundred Newton metres chrome vanadium will be ok. It's generally the 1000Nm stuff you'd want chrome moly sockets.

    Power Tool Perverts

Ahh yeah, you're right. My Teng ones are CR-MO I think.

    Power Tool Perverts

Chrome Vanadium is the type of metal, not the actual finish. Although typically most sockets are then plated in a chrome finish, which adds to the confusion.

I got these when I bought my 3/8 stubby. https://www.ffx.co.uk/Product/Get/Teng-Ten9386-5020385020047-9386-Deep-Impact-Socket-Set-Metric-8Pc-3-8-Drive# Not cheap but not expensive either

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

Technically it used to be Proline Motorsport and now it's Proline Braided Lines. New customers looking at the business wouldn't know it's past history.

That was me 😂 sorry mate. There's another lad that sells them, but his name escapes me. There's a Milwaukee buying and selling group on there, he's on that.

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

It splits near where the exhaust goes up over the beam. So which is it, the straight bit under the car or clipped to the beam?
  21. Mr Trailer Man

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

Ooh that one. That's a bit more tricky as it runs to the abs unit. I'm not sure if it splits before that or if you have to take it out at the pump.

    Cam cover leak 182

I meant in terms of stretch, once it's been tensioned and ran it's not the best practice to reuse but people have done and it's been fine.
  23. Mr Trailer Man

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

Easy really, only a case of unscrewing lines. I'm guessing that is the pipe that runs along the rear beam?
  24. Mr Trailer Man

Spongy brake pedal after front pad change

Jesus! I bet that's been like that a while? Time for some braided lines to replace it.

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Used it years ago. Always looked for the Bio Brisk version in bulk to dilute down but could never get any. Ended up with the Valet Pro carpet stuff which I use through a spray extraction machine.

Should have no issue taking the belt off, although for the sake of a few quid I'd get a new belt for good practice.

Yeah 😂 Pressure bleeder and rstuner does it for me.
