Yeah I’ll do the same
Unless it is as mentioned by underhill, the seals around doors and more specially the boot are shite and the vacuum from the rear is bringing the fumes in.
Who knows. You’d think you’d hear a leak or smell it around the engine bay wouldn’t you
Maybe it is normal dude. Doesn’t strike me as being ideal though.
I’m sure I’ve been in decatted 182’s that don’t though.. wonder if there’s a leak further up perhaps.
Maybe? It doesn’t smell like fuel like race cars do though.
It smells of fumes. Gives me a bit of a head ache at times. I’d wondered if it was the decat, but it’s weird it’s bad at motorway speeds etc and with the windows down at speed it’s pretty strong.
See, mine doesn’t smell in the cabin on start up. Only when driving. And if I open the windows it’s loads worse. I guess as it’s vacuuming it in. It’s at its worse at motorway speeds….
Bit of a head ache of a day.
Discs didn’t turn up until lunch time so didn’t bother with the rear brakes. Will do those next weekend.
Rotated all the wheels. They sound fine, but pretty sure one of the bearings is knackered as the noise goes away whilst driving under brakes or when turning...
This cars getting on my tits now.
Resealed all the exhaust joints from the manifold back and it still smells of burnt fuel in the cabin.
I’ve now got a knock when pulling away. So am ordering mounts as we speak.
I took the steering wheel off and checked the angle sensor. Put it on the yellow...
Went up to the unit today. Whilst idling the cars already on EML light started flashing. It goes off when you boot it though.
Any ideas ?
Car is decat so obvs the light is usually on steady anyway
Exchange yeah.
Was hoping to swap them over this weekend but the snr discs didn’t turn up in time annoyingly!
I’m happy with the calipers. They look spot on
Luckily, my favourite tool. It rubbed on the stock shocks with Cooksports tbf and I'm not crazy low. It defo rubs more now. And on both sides. Sounds hideous when I tip in to a corner at any pace.
I'm a solutions architect. Ex technical.
Went from technical in to Project Management, Programme Management and then Solutions.

I will get her up on the ramp soon and rotate/feel the fronts - just in case.
Be a new car after this haha! Coming from a motorsport background though I prefer to preventative maintenance/over maintain things anyway. My race bike has oil after every race despite the fact it comes out pristine...
Small update.
Car sailed through it's MOT but I am aware that the rear brakes aren't playing ball at the moment. Seeing as I'm already balls deep in to this project, I've ordered new calipers, SNR OEM discs, another new set of pads and a new spacer to renew the lot.
I have a constant 'whiring'...
Do we know who makes the oem discs / setup dude ? I’ve been told OE was TRW….??
I’ve read the bearing is marked SNR?
I can get a few different brands but have heard some horror stories about some of them 🥴
I’d read that the bearings in some (not to say the ones you’ve got) don’t last. And that Brembo has the same bearing as OEM?
Not sure how true this is though.
I’m replacing my rear calipers so am just biting the bullet and doing everything 🥴
Do these definitely come with the abs ring?
I know AUTODOC is a bit hit and miss. But I think I need rear discs and I can’t find any oems in stock that aren’t mental money
What sort of noise did you experience out of interest?
I have a constant whiring sound in mine. Which is present even when coasting and I’m wondering if it’s the tyres before I start swapping out wheel bearings
