Is it just me, but the blue 197 looks about a million times cooler,
I know every new model takes a bit of getting used to but these have been out what, almost 2 years? I still detest them from every single angle. :(
Problem is, it does every single thing you could want from a car perfectly. It's very fast, refined, comfortable, practical, well made (in general), good looking (IMO),and cheap to run.
And yet I don't find any excitement from driving it... It's soul-less.
I havent mate, will look into them though
I know, definately strange, its really noticably louder from the outside, and its not something i was looking for, but its that obvious.
How did they start acting up mate?
I know.. They have done for years now. They used to cover the BM as well until their renawal last year was rediculous so it's with a privaledge now.
Might have to try some classic car companies...
Thanks mate. It's definately a nice feeling knowing it's mine. I definately think it's time to sort out some kind of agreed value insurance. I'm not sure me and elephant would agree anymore if the worst was to happen. Haven't a clue how to sort something like this out though..
So this is what condition a 6 year old, 9000 mile belt is in... I don't think it was going to snap anytime soon.
Various other bits and bobs...
All home again! :)
Cars home... Running like a dream, my exhaust is definately louder for some reason.. But it sounds epic so maybe was never...
I was planning to just get those and fit myself... Must be an easy job surely.
Engine is back in now, there was a hold up with the crank pulley which was on back order. Picking up later on this afternoon :)
Is that who's working on it? Take it you know him then. I've not spoken to the mechanic directly but Dave Sanders who is actually in parts but dealing with me through the service dept is brilliant!
Ha no I've taxed it specially for one month.. Soon as it's back home it's SORN again though!
You don't really need to know which order they are in...
Just whip off the upper and inner cover, you will be able to see all 6 coils as it's a ph2.
One by one disconnect the connector to each coil, if it drops down to 4 cylinders then that coil is fine, the one you unplug which doesn't alter...
It's done 9k in total on this Cambelt, and since I've had it 4k in 4 years, so I'm thinking that in the next time it's due a belt it'll be sitting with just over 32-33k miles. Surely the clutch will be fine...
