Lovely car Sam they are so under rated. I had a 3.2 Boxter S in Blue with tan leather for a couple of weeks when I worked at Lexus and apart from the fact it had less space than a mini's boot it was a superb car to drive. Added bonus of no room for the kids.
Looks superb fella, never ceases to amaze me how hands on some people are and what they are willing to do. I'd be scared sh*tless of mocking up suspension and welding parts on, cutting parts out etc. Good job I look forward to reading more.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Cracking thread, the install looks fantastic, what kind of power figures are you hoping for once its mapped? If you fancy making any more air deflectors up I'd take a set for my PH1.
I'd go for Blue Stuff, that's what I have and they are superb, no brake fade after 45 minutes on track at Donington on the GP track and a very hot day. Can't vouch for the others but I will definatly be buying the same again, 4 track days Donington GP twice, Oulton Park and LLandow on them so...
Be interested to see where that car was adapted and when. Also surely the logbook would have needed to have been changed to say when the engine was swapped and that must be traceable date wise. Wonder if the modification and engine swap match up?
Spotted this last night inside lane of the M69 Coventry bound just after the second Hinckley junction. Couldn't identify the wheels as it was being driven but looked a fairly tidy car, I'm sure I spotted either yellow harness's or seatbelts.
So I have ordered a Sealey rechargable impact gun (300lbft hope that will be sufficient), Torque wrench, cordless angle grinder (don't need to use this alot) and some gloves (they were thrown in). The whole lot just under £250.
I can get snap on and sealey through work. Snap on was silly money so that's out. I'll investigate the sealey one tomorrow. Chip I'd say really up to £200 or there abouts. Cheers guys.
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Chip, they don't do a RS2 for the ph1 yet do they? Looking at getting matched inlets on mine and one of Fred's cams. Got a 182 manifold now so hope to see a 5-10 bhp jump and some more torque. Good setup...
I'm looking to buy a cordless impact gun to aid with speedy wheel removal and jobs on the car. I need some recommendations for the best suited to the job. If you guys can give me some suggestions and best places to buy from it would be much apprecitated.
