No i plan to fit a quaife LSD in the coming months, but you should know all about my plans anyway Fred :p
Just wondered if its worthg fitting a lighter flywheel whilst the box is off? im changing the clutch anyway as mine slips in nitrous so need a stronger unit.
Are they worth fitting? anybody with previous experiences on cliosports with one fitted?
Having the clutch changed in a few weeks on the 197 and have a company in holland selling single piece lightweight flywheels ( original 6.1kg, lightweight one 3.9kg ) for the car.
Before i get one...
Wanting to fit an ATB diff to the 197 but can only find tuning garages who want excess of £900 in labour to fit it for me .
Anybody know of a good RenaultSport or transmission specialist who would be cheaper but still do the job properly?
Thanks for any advice ;)
How strange that i just managed to stumble upon this meet when i was getting some dinner lol, sorry i couldnt stay and chat but had plans for down southend, nice to meet alot of you know. Will defo make an appearance at the next one.
Weathers nice and its coming upto the southend season again, i'll be down there with a few people catching up from winter hibernation of the 197 lol.
Anyone else fancy a mini meet or just a quick drive down this evening?

A few pics of the day, didnt get too many as the turn around for queuing and racing was so quick, got a good 7 runs so no time to get pics til end of day.
And a video of me against a Corrado V6 powered Vw Van, real sleeper this thing, running 300bhp! No problem for the Nos...
197.net are in the process of organising and securing a rather large local camp site and cliosport.net & meganesport.net are welcome to attend.
I'll find details out asap.
Ah sorry man didn't mean to be rude or anti social. So many people spoke to me that day Im having a hard time remembering you? Defo woulda remembered chatting to another 197 owner are you sure it was me?
Next time I'm down north Weald I'll throw u an invite and we can see how the two cars...
Firstly I hardly chickened out as I waited an hour in line to get a left lane timed run and wasn't about to waste the oppotunity because the chap in front fancied a blast with me, if you wanted to run you should have come and asked, I would have only been too happy :)
and LOL at the people...
I know its quite a popular mod but thought i'd post my experiences with it anyway.
Idea here being to machine out the small step in the inlet of the throttle body to improve airflow, obviously...
Took it to my local machinist shop to get the step bored out but they wanted £80 for the honour...
Anyone can go buy a 172, why so much stick for actually being different from the rest of your boring CS sheep...
And besides the look she gets from destroying RS 2 ltrs 'in a 1.4' is worth more than the money the conversion cost anyday.
I see the little rich brats at go karting doing the tyre warming swerve on their 30 metre 'warm up lap' lol.
Never seen it done on a road car though, its just gay.
Its all academic anyway because if you buy a 197 it'll spend so much time in the dealers after going wrong that your effectively buying a twingo 1.2 courtesy car as your daily driver.
And they are very good on petrol :p
