Well they say it took months of development on the dyno with adjusting of the inlet pipes length and shape, and specific type of filters and sizes etc.
Plus the genuine carbon inlet pipe that takes '7 hours of build time in itself'.
I know the general rule of thumb is open air filters will suffer heat soak and thus lose power. And i'm also aware that the 197s inlet is difficult to improve on as standard and should be left alone for best performance.
However i've been speaking to Madeno Racing of Holland and their new...
Typical cliosport fashion, shoot new members down because they come to the site with the 'dilusion' that a car club ( term used lightly ) can offer help.
It may be a stupid question to the CS regulars, or as they're known lifeless geeks who spend their weekends spraying diamonds and sharking...
TDF i know its difficult to give vauge quotes but what sort of money would it cost an owner to drive in, have the throttle body kit fitted and setup and drive away reliably.
Is this something that would ever be an option offered to road users or strictly just one off big bucks race packages...
Yeah this is the noise i get, i know its coming from the drilled discs as i get the noise when braking with just the handbrake. ( fronts are grooved, rears are drilled ).
Has anybody else noticed this or is my car developing a major problem?
Got megane drilled rear discs and during normal driving they are absolutely silent, but get over 90mph or start braking heavily from any speed and you get this noise like a playing card in a bicycle wheel coming from both...
I know there are loads of threads on how to paint them and what paint to use but theres a lack of photos on the site.
Can anyone whos done this post pictures up so i can see what colours look good and what dont?
Thinking of doing mine white on the white 197...
Well I do drag it occassionally which is how I first realised the clutch was slipping and not upto the job of nitrous and launches.
I'm very tempted to use the uprated pressure plate with a standard friction plate now though...?
Absolutely thanks for your input mx1_champ.
the car is only used at the weekend and never for travel just for fun so i can put up with abit of judder. Been in touch with Helix and they've assured me although its far from ideal, that spec clutch can be used on a road car.
Seeing as the standard 197 clutch doesnt cope well with the extra +60bl/ft of the car and how its used on the strip alot, i've gone about ordering a more manly setup.
Very little avaliable for the 197 so had Helix make a custom clutch through a retailer for my needs, only problem is its a 4...
Its alot of money to feel no difference though, im tempted to just fit a better clutch and leave the flywheel stock.
Most people seem to think the gains are barely noticable!
