Hi I have a de-cat on my 1996 1.2 Clio and im wondering if I left it on when it comes MOT time if I will pass the emissions or just fail because I dont have a cat??

Looks ace :D - I have the same on my 1.2 and the handlings much better. Maybe lost a slight bit in acceleration but I think most people would feel that going from steelies to alloys. I find it hard to wheelspin now due to the extra grip :)

Lol tbh in fairness the Clio does have a funny clutch compared to most cars. When I got mine I was stalling it now and again for the first few weeks. Hired a Focus for the weekend and never stalled it at all :)

The Clios engine is classed as a 1.2 as the French rate the engines on Emissions or something :/

Some companies still do it but alot are withdrawing now inc Nowrich Union etc so best to ask on the phone. Has something to do with tracing drivers and insurance details being logged on each vehicle etc (without getting technical lol)

Some very good points made on here. Ive had passenger rides in a Cup and got back into my car and it felt well slow. Lol - if you had a minidisc player you could get a cable that would connect to an input audio socket on the soundcard (the cable you would need is like a phono cable but with 2 pointy ends) Then you would just need some software to record the sound coming into the mac e.g through the microphone...

Be good until you crash... I would suggest if you dont want to pay loads for insurance and if your after a newer shape Clio to get either a 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v then - at least you would have some reasonable power to start with. If you want to go mad with cams, turbos etc then its down to the...

Dunno about price - £5 - 7k at a guess?? and wouldnt recommend putting to much power into it as read someone turbo'd their 1.6 16v to over 200bho but kept blowing up. For that prive you may aswell get a 172 and your nearly there. For cams think they may have some on cat cams - www.catcams.be

What about just getting a 1.6 16v if your not after a 172 etc atm?? Whats the engine model for the 1.2 16v engine??

LPT = light pressure turbo. Theres prob plenty of bits you can get for the engine such as cams but then you have to think is it really worth it etc
