Thanks mate. Seen a fair few decent spec Cups up for sale recently, just saying :tongueout:.
Still very useful info as they actually only have a chamfer on one side. I'll flip them around when fitting. Thanks pal
Some goodies arrived today in the post. 16 x M12 50mm studs from Driftworks and some Neo Chrome wheel nuts. Spacers from Pure Motorsport also arrived. Trial fitted to make sure everything fits ok and now just waiting on the 271 Loctite in the post
Studs seem to fit fine... felt a little...
KTEC seem to do a set of studs in either 68mm or 100mm. I want to run 10mm spacers now as it might help if I ever get a second set of 15" wheels for track. Should I go for 100 or 68mm?
That's one of my favourite things about the ED kit. At first I wanted blue silicone bends and chrome pipes but now I'm glad that they only offer all black.
You've got a good point there, that might work out better. There's a waiting list for more of Chris's brackets so i'm sure it wouldn't take long for these to sell.
Exactly the same here mate, not sure if I want to run extended wheel bolts with 5mm spacers so now looking at more money for the stud conversion kit which sucks.
Cheers @NorthloopCup that makes perfect sense as that's exactly what is happening with the 280s. Looking at it now I can see how 295's and 300's would clear the wheels without a problem.
Yeah @Mash that's exactly what I managed to do the first time around. Had a lot of trouble fitting the pads until I realised what I had done lol. Just checked the wheels again and they're catching but only just so a few mm would do it. I'd be interested in the spacers mate, just let me know...
Exactly this mate. The spokes are making contact with the face of the caliper. Perhaps I have gone wrong on the install but god knows where.
The only other possibility excusing my mechanical incompetence would be that not too long ago I had that exact hub changed by a garage as two wheel bolts...
The wheel is sitting on the face of the caliper mate so would literally hit it/get stuck by the looks of things. No idea which brackets i'm using as I got the lot from @Mash but believe they are for 280mm discs.
It could be that I've mounted them wrong, I'm handy with a spanner but hardly the world's best at this sort of thing. Initially I did get the brackets around the wrong way and only realised after the pads wouldn't fit lol. Changed around and everything fits fine.
Literally the only place that it's making contact with the caliper is on the face where the Brembo logo is. It looks as if the caliper will clear the inside of the wheel easily.
If I hover the wheel over the hub with about a 5mm gap (eyeballing it) it looks as if it will just about clear it.
OMP subframes and some universal sidemounts from Ebay - here. If i'm honest the seat doesn't sit too well on the OMP subframes as they aren't central (either the seat sits slightly over to the left or the right) Could easily get around it by drilling some more holes in the subframes.
They were...
It's a corbeau sprint mate
Good idea, just checked and they're 38.5 so definitely Cup turini's. The MAPs stud kit sounds like a good option, is there a difference in price compared to the PMS kit?
Finally got round to having a go at fitting the Brembo's today only to be stopped in my tracks because they don't clear the wheels!
I was under the impression you could run meg calipers with 280mm discs and cup turinis without spacers but apparently not.
This means the Brembo's will be put on...
Had a little go at cleaning up the new brakes earlier before giving them a couple of coats of paint. I've gone for yellow because they looked best in my Photoshop attempt (pictured below)
Got the E-tech caliper paint kit as i've seen some impressive results on YouTube. They look a bit crap in...
Cheers pal. My original plans where to go for a mint OEM spec Cup but i'm increasingly swaying towards making it more track focused. Trying my best to strike a balance between the two.
So this happened recently... fully stripped at the rear except for the roof lining. I was debating about it for a while, but given that I can keep the interior stored away in the shed for now I thought i'd try it anyway.
It's now extremely loud as everything is amplified and I love it. I...
I also fitted uprated engine and gearbox mounts and get the exact same whine whilst slowing down or speeding up, just cruising along in 4th or 5th and I can hear it. Pretty sure it's just vibration / increased noise as it's been this way for around 4 months now and it hasn't changed.
