Does anyone know who their target audience were?
Because if it was 40/50/60 year old women, then they've hit the nail on the head.
They're the only people who I see driving them around here, and I see a lot of 200ts
Fair enough, sequential boxes sound like a lot of fun.
@Pacman. Has a cae shifter but I'm not sure if he's had any experience with it yet.
The throw on these boxes is very short as is though.
Is there any reason why you're wanting to jump straight into a fairly modified 197 without seeing how...
Hi, there's not been talk of a proper meet for a while, the last one was April if I remember right?
If anyone has any ideas of a meet by all means post up :)
Jenvey don't. I was looking the other day :o
Iirc, tdf were developing itbs but stopped, and @ben_r1 had the only throttle boddied 197 that I'm aware of
Why do you want a gripper diff over a quaife?
These are meant to be a right pain in the Arse to remove the gearbox... And the gripper needs annual services as far as I know.
Yup, that's the cold map on these.
They make 160ishbhp on the cold map and are heavily restricted until they're up to temperature. You just have to nurse it until it's warm
The jumping/kangarooing is a quirk of these cars, I don't know what causes it but it's annoying and dangerous as f**k...
Standard cars are more than capable on track, as said, just a set of decent tyres and brakes is all you really need.
@JamesBryan has a 182 with sorted tyres and brakes, and I think a set of cheap coilovers? And that thing is hilariously fast at oulton, capable of 90-100 through Druids, it's...
That was purely a ballpark figure, work out a price for a worst case scenario: large mileage, a lot of photos and photography/editing time and work back from that.
I'd just think of a value that you'd get out of bed for and charge that.
£10 ph while starting? Just to cover a little bit of time and effort
Then up it once you get a decent amount of interest, start taking longer and generally being more professional
Ooh, pics of the Meg? And spec?
@james24785 has just made the same swap.
He'll probably be along shortly to be all buddy buddy because car friends.
It's ok to put him on your ignore list.
Just went out to check the civic. The female has it away at work this week. Stupid me.
Anyway, these are brilliant on the it. Better than the conti3s I have on the Clio in the wet and perfectly adequate in the dry.
35 all round I think we run on the civic.
I'm going to get a set of these...
@litchy has the Meg engine
But as far as I know you need an r26/225 box as the 250 one won't fit
Straight swap engine wise from what I've read. You need to change over four wires or so on the loom, and a couple on the gearbox for the new 6th position.
Then it's a custom intercooler, pipe...
