need some help for a connie from work, he's got a stripped out turbo'd 172. His car locks with the key remote, but wont unlock or switch off his alarm. Any ideas? Just now he has to unlock with the door lock then start it up to stop the alarm sounding.
Hi
Had a look around the net at spec of the below discs but not sure if they come with bearings fitted?
Anyone got these rear discs from Kamracing and do they come with ABS ring and bearings?
thanks...
And if you suspect the alternator, disconnect the main lead from the alternator to confirm the current drops off when disconnected.
Disconnect the negative terminal from your battery before disconnecting / reconnecting the alternator, or you might weld your ratchet to the car.
Ignition off then disconnect the negative lead from your battery. Set your Meter to DC Amps, Plug black lead of your meter into the common. Plug red lead of meter into Amps/Current(I)(if you have 2 Amps/Current sockets on the meter say 10Amps and 300mAmps use the 10Amp connection first then if...
Thanks for the advice guys. I just wanted to put some new bolts in my new clip/speed nuts, as i have had to bond them onto my bumper. The old ones were solid and ripped the bumper. Local Dealer now gettin me bolts for Friday. Took 4 visits and 2 sets of wrong bolts.
Hi, Please help cos my local dealer can't. I need some bolts for my 182 front bumper. 10mm head trapped washer fine thread that looks like a tap.(slots cut lengthways halfway up the bolt). Ordered some but the parts manual is wrong. Thanks for any input.
I take it the mention of taking off the engine mount off is to give some space to move the tensioner tool? I hada go with the home made tool but couldn't get enough movement to slacken the belt. Job isnt too bad but i would say a bit longer than an hour.
Jubilee clip it was, just fitted the new alternator. Current drain with ignition off is now 37 milli amps. Now need to get a new clip/speed nut for the bumper and the bolts for the wings and slam panel the dealer didn't bother refitting last visit.
Hi,
Is there an easy way to get hard wax product out of my rear washer jet. gave it a poke with a needle now its totaly blocked.
Heat? Take it off and blow it out?
Will try to get a pic in the morning, But as described. The shorting link is bonded onto the inside of the rubber protective cap that fits over the diagnostic plug. When the caps is fitted over the plug it shorts 2 pins together.????? Only noticed cos mine was left off after the last service.
The Diagnostic connector under the ashtray on my 182 has a shorting link built into the blanking cap of the connector.
..So with the blanking cap fitted 2 pins get shorted out.
What is this shorting link for?
Where is this hose ment to go? found it just to the inside of the brake servo. It has a fir tree type shape at the end as if it locates into somthing? Was having a look at my servo one way valve at the time.
Got this problem just now, Its My Alternator.
Current drain with alternator disconnected is around 35 milli Amps. With the alternator connected it can vary day to day from 90 milli Amps up to 0.4 Amps.
Need to get round to doing somthing about it...... Disconnecting the battery when the cars not...
Thanks for the pic of your tool...........now i've seen it and had a look at my old tensioner....had a look around the garage and think i might be able to do it with a modified houshold radiator key, modified 12mm ring spaner and a length of strong flattened piping......I know just get the...
