Oh another thing to add is i've totally removed the A/C,PAS,Heaters,Airbags,Carbon canister,ABS+load sensor,Fuel tank,Acoustic valve, electric windows, and all the other things that's not really needed as a track car.
Plan for the fuel tank is to run a facet red top as a lift pump into a 1.5ltr...
Sorry chrispy should have said in the previous post, my plan is to have the car road legal (as a back up car) but will be used mainly as a track car.
At the moment i've separated the lights/ind/fan/water bottle/brake pot/wiper motor wiring away from the engine loom as i'm planning on running...
Good afternoon chaps i've had a look and couldn't find answers to my query.
I've come across a problem whilst relocating the ecu (to the interior) and getting rid of unwanted wires out of my engine/interior loom, so as of now i've got 3 options
1) Do the loom and hope it starts
2) Buy a new...
Its the water pipes going into the bulkhead (engine side) under the water bottle, push in the plastic clips either side and pull the pipe off but sometimes they are stiff to come off.
The bolts to undo the matrix are behind the firewall under the wiper motor their 10mm and should be 2/3 of them.
remember to disconnect the water pipes going into the bulkhead
Yes it can mount on there for sure phil, my 182 had the bracket to hold it on in the same place (drivers side by the door) you'll need a bolt not sure what size thread to hold it tight.
As always Kenny top work from yourself very jealous of your electrical knowledge, and thanks for all the info that's been passed through pm's :).
I must finish reading this from the start again just to see if the answers are in here to my queries.
Yeah i do like the mechanic side of things but take it i'd have to be a diesel fitter not my current qualification (cars)?
And not sure where you live but i guest there's no "yard depot" around Newport so travelling would have to be considered for that.
Lol i hear that train drivers are on...
Wow didn't realise that a simple job as trolley dolly or even a conductor was on that much a hour, i'm currently a Shunter at the moment (driving class 1 hgv's) but been driving them since 18 (army days) on and off along with other jobs such as a fully qualified mechanic but there's no money in...
Did look into the rail work jobs sometime ago and phoned up greenlight but got fobbed off because i wasn't already on the dole, so just out of curiosity what kind a job does a small tool's man do?
Say if i did pay to do my pts course and small tools what kind of rate would i be getting?
I...
Jay problem you'll have is the master cylinder i've replaced mine with is a 4 port m10 fixing, your car is still running abs so it only has 2ports using m12 fixing so for you to upgrade your master cylinder you'll need to find a 2port m12 with a bigger bore than 22mm and not to forget it has to...
Yeah that's the clocks I'll be rocking with :), car's coming slowly dude have fitted the uprated master cylinder and done all new brake pipes so no abs now also fitted a lever type bias valve.
Finally after 2 weeks of hunting i've managed to get new steering rack boots for the EPS (3 different...
Here you go jay this is my purchase :)
Anybody had one of these before? What they like to fit? Not sure yet as to if i'm going down the route of standalone managment or use my existing ecu but remove/bypass the immobiliser (if i'm able to) as i've been premature and cut the unwanted wires from...
Though it would make you laugh a bit lol, wow awesome dude bargain there then :), sounds like we both been spending and got bargains with our purchases (mine will hopefully be turning up today) :). Be very careful who does your cam belt make sure that they got the specific tools for a 1*2 as...

I know a nice little garage near abergavenny :), seams to only work on clio's as i keep seeing a burgundy one go in all the time. Maybe he's a Renault specialist? Lol
The edges have been dremel'd down to a smooth finish, its not getting raced so that's not a problem for me but as with the edge you could always put rubber beading around the edges.
Here's mine i made but unlike other dashes i wanted it all angled towards me, it'll be flocked with the switch panel at the top dash area and below would be the fuses/relays and for the clocks i'll be using a race technology dash.
Here you go Bigash didn't want to reveal this until it was flocked and switch/fuse/relay panels fitted but ain't long finished making my own dash and console hope you like it and also inspire you too.
Was just seaching to see what people have done to their lightweight doors and what final weight they had and came across this.
Chrispys above is good but you can go more extreme than that if needed here's mine.
Final weight was 12.70kg (door lock and mechinism/mirror/side skirts still on) its...
^^^^ lol i'm hoping it will stay clean or at least it won't take much to keep it clean now. But main reason for doing it white was to pin point any leaks if i get any, yeah i've removed the whole thing as its only to hide the bits behind it so noting structural.
You'd be surprised as to how...
Here's mine just to give you a idea of how it could look if you was to keep the use of your xenon headlight at the same time, I'm currently researching how to make moulds for it as i've been asked by others if i'd do them one in fibreglass.
Yeah that's true you pay for what you get these days, only prob i'd have with paying that money for 2in1 dial is another say £300 on top and you could buy a race technology dash 2 and have it all on one display.
These gauges are amazing i bought both temp and pressure ones for my car, they even have a light up display at start up. See a vid inside link.

That's good news with the dial then :), will give Fred and dan a pm when its closer to the time and see if any of them are able to fit me in :).
Again cheers guys.
OMG That's TDF's work on a loom f*ck that (my 2yr old niece could do a better job) cheers for the heads up i'm going else where now, only said them as i also wanted the car dyno'd and possibly itb's setup properly so thought they could do all jobs together.
The guy has confirmed that he's...
