I think they did two reds, early ones Mars red and later ones flame red. They also did two silvers I think as with the 172, Titanium to start with then Iceberg. Theres blue as well. Possibly a black too, cant remember now. Pretty sure no yellow.
Seen a red one locally a few times, looks very...
Hi Brun, cheers for the shout ! Still read the forum all the time, just dont post as much as I should !
Would have liked to come to the meets but work meant I couldnt make it. And having just had a quick check of the meets forum its the same story for the 9th ! Will definitely come next time I...
Might have been done already ? but having seen a few UK Cups in the flesh I noticed they come with a rear wiper. In the original photos (probably French model) and blurb it didnt have one.
Guess they decided it was just too extreme to ditch the rear wiper for the rather wet UK !
Towser, hope they oblige ! I think the dealer said something about a % split on cost but they would pay the rest out of good will due to all the trouble Ive had.
The pattern never ends, something goes wrong with the car, then the dealer screws up sorting it out !
Hi Paul,
yes it was me at Donnington, still ever grateful, it was a great day out.
My car was within the numbers mentioned on the note. When the work was done they made no mention of the true nature of the fault but the parts list matched the tech note exactly.

I had mine done about a year ago. Extended warranty paid about £600 I think. Started at only 8K miles.
However unless Im mistaken its getting louder again (at 16K miles), noticed when I went under the bonnet to listen to a belt related ticking sound that just developed ! Arse, going to dealer...
Sounds like a MK1. Easiest way to check if you dont know your clioss would be to look at some of the pictures in the cliosport gallery, its not hard to spot the difference !
Insurance sounds good, my insurance is due and my best also wilth DL is £690 protected, 27yo full NCB etc.
If its a...

Sorry! Reaing it again I can see how you took my post as a dig, no offence meant !
I wasnt trying to say you abuse your car that badly but just wondering if it can be explained by different peoples driving styles. The above was a worst case, literally non stop banging, no smoke as it was...
I like to think that I give my 172 a fair bit of stick and get the most out of it. Ive never heard banging on mine and always thought of it as a problem as some people have reported.
However when I went out for a test drive in a Civic Type R I experienced axle tramp first hand like you wouldnt...
The following might be unrelated to your problem but worth knowing. If you car was post 16 October 2000 or has extended warranty then you should have no warranty problems.
I have a Mk1 and had cam belt, pulleys & rollers replaced under my extended warranty at about 8k miles. This was due to a...
