I went to the dealer with this. Tech bloke reversed it upto another car, quick tweak in the footwell and a look over his shoulder and it was set perfect.

I like the yellow on the silver. Looks like it always belonged there.

All late phase 2s have the airbag (well Ive seen blue, black, red & met red with them). I have also seen some very late valvers with grotty plastic airbag wheels instead of leather (one was brand new in local showroom at the time).

I can only assume Autocar contradict themselves so much and make so many mistakes because they are a weekly, theyve always been like this.

Cant help but comment after seing those pics, you must be so gutted, what a gorgeous car. Simply nothing to harsh for the feckers that did this, people could have been killed.

How does the williams 1 numbering work between LHD & RHD? Are the LHD drive ones numbered (if at all) from 500-xxxx, i.e. is there a UK #100 and a Euro #100 or is it #1 = LHD, #2-#500=RHD & #501-#xxxx=LHD. Does that make sense ? :confused:

Bam Bam, I aint saying it counts for anything, I aint saying mine has got it but the literature for the MK1 172 says 172 BHP several times on it ! So I think you can say it was marketed as having that output !

Early Mk1s have one sensor, later ones two.

Later 2001 MK1s have no shift light. They have a different cat set up with two sensors and no shift light.

Renaults dont have a PDI they have a PDC = Pre Delivery Cursory Glance :)

The tollerance on services is +/- 1000 miles so by rights it is too late for the 12K..... Common sense says ( to me anyway) the next service should be 12K or 2 years after when your first service (completed on schedule) was done. However Renault and common sense dont always go hand in hand !
