Well, owing to me being a monumental spacker, I managed to reverse into my box of new brake parts while putting the car in the garage...
I suppose it was a sign to pull my finger out and get the brakes fitted?
I managed to track down a bumper in decent nick on eBay, so drove down to Stoke...
Mine came with p zeros on. They aren't too bad, my PE2's on my old car were much more planted at the rear in the wet though, same pressures. Dry grip is really good though.
No major mods to speak of yet, I'm still waiting for all of my tools & trolley jack to arrive from Australia meaning I'm fairly limited in what I can get done at the moment.
However, I've had the car in to DTM Cars here in Newcastle to get the whining PAS pump replaced. I also got them to carry...
They aren't supposed to. Every track is different but the riders briefing always has a 'rule' about overtaking and how close to another rider you can be.
Milo was awesome. It's a shame you couldn't get reasonable insurance on the 182, your plans for Pierre sound good so I'll be interested to see how it turns out.
Hiya mate, timing belt is due every four years or 72k miles, whichever comes first - IIRC.
Andy works for DTM Cars who are a trader on here. He worked on my car for the first time today and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I will definitely be returning to DTM for any future...
I've just had the same fault as the OP. I didn't wash the engine though, I made that mistake over a year ago with my first 172.
Anyway, the car started idling at 3000rpm and wouldn't rev over 3000rpm for love nor money. This only lasted for around 2 mins, the car then started behaving normally...
Re: My Inferno Orange 182 Project Thread - Fast Road/Occasional track day car....
Just seen this, your plans are very similar to mine and we aren't a million miles away from each other. Got any trackdays booked yet?
It's got 15mm rear spacers on at the moment but they'll be coming off when I fit my new discs and pads, the tyre is catching the guard when cornering hard.
Hi all,
Picked up this Monaco Blue 172 from a former member in Edinburgh last week. This is the second 172 I've owned, I had a Pearl Black 172 while I was living in Australia and I've definitely been bitten by the Renaultsport bug!
It's currently on 85k and it's current spec is;
-Cooksport...
I had a pearl black 172 over in Oz but always hated how hard it was to keep it looking good, I was only looking for Monaco or Flamer this time round.
Pics of my old car, I still miss it!
