Thats awesome! Why dont our motoring shows do actual races like this instead of just fastest lap comparisons? Either way credit to whatever Japanese show organised that :)
Essential maintenance and mods are 2 different things kevster. If your tyres are s**te (4 different brands) or borderline low on tred depth then i would hardly call it a mod.
My 172 had 2 different brands of tyres on it, all with good tred depth and both fairly well known brands (not ditch...
Couldnt agree more with Dan. You spend all of your time in the car so makes sense to improve the space your in. For me, my best modification was the 197 steering wheel for my 172 to replace the 172s 9yr old, part melting steering wheel. Updated and cleaned up the car for me as far as i was...
Yeah i rate them highly as well. The reason you dont hear much about them on here is because i think they only insure people over 25+.
Dont forget the boomerang tag key cover that replaces lost keys. Awesome stuff, used it once to get a spare cut for my 172 which would have otherwise cost me £170.
Oooo only seems like yesturday i was in the same situation mate. I was lucky in the fact my car must have been at the end of the batch waiting for shipment as 3 days later after arriving at the docks it got shipped over. Some cars miss the boat then have to wait weeks until the next batch ship lol.
The tyre wall doesnt really contribute much to the ride comfort. If you want a comfy ride then you need a thicker tyre. Thicker tyre = more air to cushion against bumps = smoother ride. 195 45 16. The higher the middle number, the thicker the tyre. But be warned the 172 is designed for that...
Hardly fair comparing a special edition 197 with a bog standard 200. To make things equal it should be a side by side of equal spec, either 2 cups or 2 FF's.
I used to think the 197, but now having been around the 200 and having more exposure to them i would say looking back the 197 looks dated now in comparison. Theres a guy in my works carpark who has a 197FF and when i park nearby i think it highlights this point even more.
If you dont tell them how you want it, they will just give you the generic Clio Sport setting which while correct, depending on how low you go down it wont be correct for your car anymore. Have a search on here for the geometry settings, im sure its been covered in the past.
Just to expand on the above. Althrough the plugs (ie the 200 wiring loom and the 197 recaros) connected together as a straight swap, the connections within the plugs does not.
It appears the 200 has:
Seat Airbags
Pretensioner alert (bleeps when unplugged)
Anti-submarining airbags
I've...

The Alfreton Road, Derby branch has a Hunter 4 wheel alignment system. Should sort you out so long as you know the geometry settings you want your car set to.
Richard1, cover your eyes!
Everyone else im after alittle advice here. Using the above technique im trying to resolve the same problem on my 200 after attempting to trial fit 197 recaros. Although everything was a straight swap the connectors however are different. Upon inspect the...
Personally i cant believe it, id be gutted if mine was showing management lights so soon! How many miles did it have on the clock prior to collection out of interest, i suppose if it had only done a couple of short 1mile journeys that explains how it could have slipped through quality checking.
Its renewal time coming up at the end of the month and im currently in the process of phoning around the usual suspects for quotes. Im not wasting my time with confused.com and other such comparison websites but instead im opting to go direct.
So far my list consists of:
Greenlight -...
LOL!! n2x you are my hero. I was thinking exactly the same thing but your image describes it alot better!
Its a shame you have to go to such lengths to protect your car Demi! But its deffinately working as the car looks good. Im liking the cup spoiler on the back, are you planing on updating...
No. Its just depreciation not saving. The same way you think your getting a bargin at 11.5k the next person that buys off you will feel the same way about your year or so of ownership as it will continue to depreciate :p
