Using this faceplate, I've increased my download speed from 1.71 to 4.36 (Upload remains sh1te)
Pretty chuffed! It didn't kick in the same day but tested again today and it's made a jump up.
Didn't even need a punch down tool, just pushed the wires in using a kife.
If anyone else is...
I'm butt welding. I was just getting far too much heat build and pushing holes through, then going to try to reduce amps and just getting zero penetration and pop, pop, pop, pop.
It still needs a touch of tweaking to get perfect, but I can now get a nice butt weld between two plates, albeit...
It's one of these. Three swtiches Low-Medium, Max, High-Low. Then wire control dial on the left. I'm going to try pushing it up a little and going in small tacks. Cheers Guys.
I'm doing some repair work on my MK1. It's the first time I've had to weld anything this thin (0.9mm).
I've got a pub gas CO2 bottle which is great for the 3mm plate that I've done before. I've got a SIP MigMate 105 which was recommended in a group test, but I find to be a load of sh1te.
I'm...
No great gains to be had. V6 box if you can do it really cheap. BMC CDA are good but fairly expensive. Concentrate on a nice cold air source (not air from behind the rad) I've no experience with the JMS box. Matched inlets are cheap gains @ around £120 for a few bhp.
I've done a guide for fitting a 182 manifold to a 172 (not as easy as you might think-subframe drop). The 10ps gain between the cars (although it's not actually that much) is the exhuast system (manifold and high flow cat) and the slightly better RS stamped intake manifolds with a map to suit...
Just like to add, you don't get more grip from wider tires. Just better heat management. It's all in the formula for friction.
As for the Car, WTF are those wheels, wheres the clutch, why is it so farkin expensive.
Buy an S3 and tweak it surely!
I've been looking at these for my phone.
Theres proper cards (kingston & sandisk) from proper internet retailers for ~£50
BUT, theres some on eBay for less than half that
Has anyone got any experience with unbranded cards as above?
Looking at a policy with swift cover. They seem cheap and pretty good.
I had a lot of trouble adding temporary drivers to my last policy, anyone know if swift cover are any good for it?
Cheers
I think the cheapest and best way to do this conversion would be to basically fit a F4RT from a megane 225. It's been done using the 172 bottom end, 225 internals, 225 head and then 172 gearbox.
If you could run a cracked OEM ECU it's easily within budget and will make in excess of 250bhp
Awesome project! Why run a G40 engine on carb? they injection as standard are they not? Mate of mine runs polo performance parts, has an emulator to map the standard G40 ECU amongst other tricks. Let me know if you need to get in touch.
You caught that just in time! What brand are the discs? With the pads wearing down that fast, it has surely has to be a caliper issue. Is your MPG suffering?
