    project laguna coupe

Just paint the engine cover matt/satin black to match the airbox/fusebox and get new stickers for it. Would look nice and subtle i reckon.

wheel spacers? good place for them ?

Do they? Run them on the cup and i've seen a good improvement with them on!

Nicks 172 Cup From The Start!

Update - The Cup has now been sorn for a couple of months so I can really crack on with getting stuff done. There was always a problem doing the bigger stuff to the Cup when I was using it as a daily as there'd always be a a rush to get something done otherwise I wouldn't have a car to use...

    New Wheels

    For a 7J wheel i'd with either a et 15 wheel or a 25mm spacer on a 7J et 43. With an 8J just go with an et30-35 wheel.

    New Wheels

Thats fine, as said its your opinion. As much as its wrong! :rasp:

    New Wheels

Would need at least a 25mm spacer to make it look good, but my opinion as said is that 15's with stretched tyres is too small even for clio.

    New Wheels

Et 35 and are 8" wide them 17" BBS reps are, would sit nicely in the arches. And the Vmaxxs are pretty soft so that would be your problem, all you can do is remove the bits of the car that are rubbing against the wheel to make things better.
  9. N

    New Wheels

It clearly scrubbed as your suspension is too soft then! The right 17" wheel can look good on a clio, but people on here are too quick decide against it as they think they'll get slated for it. If you choose right and pull it off you wont get slated, but then there is the matter of taste also...

standard or performance 172 cup exhaust

Yep and terrible quality! At least with a stainless steel exhaust from an exhaust place is that it's more durable and you normally get a lifetime guarentee with it also!

    New Wheels

Not having a go but just saying, will still look average but if your going to do it, do it properly I say. I'd love to build a scene looking car but would rather spend my money on more of the racing style of things.

    New Wheels

As it will fill the arches better instead of being just a car with 'broken' suspension with pidly small wheels. Lowering your car as low as it can go was cool, like 2 years ago.
  13. N

    New Wheels

You can also get 'extra lowz' with the 16" or 17" wheels, but it will look better! Your choice anyways.

standard or performance 172 cup exhaust

Renault will sting you for a new exhaust, circa over £700! Best thing to do if you want a quiet exhaust is go to a custom exhaust place and they can build you a stainless steel exhaust that will last and be quiet also for half the price of a Renault one.

    New Wheels

Fake splits, plus you'd need spacers for them to work. I'd say 25mm spacers on the front with a little bit of camber and 15mm spaces on the rear with a bit camber to actually look good! Why dont you go for a set of 16/17" wheels? If your going 'scene' you'll fill the arches better with bigger...

    New Wheels

Oh and also there a VW fitment which is a centre bore of 56.1 or something close to that, clio is 60.1 so you'd have to machine the centre bore out with them also.

    New Wheels

I run 25mm spacers on the front of mine with an 7J et43 offset wheels and i'm roughly 20mm max away from the tyres sticking out of the arch, and thats with 3 degrees of camber! Being a plastic arch and if you went any wider than that what I run without having suspension with no flex/movement it...

    New Wheels

Wont fit. Even if you had over 3 degrees of camber they still wouldnt fit in the arches on the front, the rears definately wont fit.

Trophy #007 : Alcantara cleaning and some alcantara trimming......

As much as its still a cliosport interior, the seats with all the little touches look and probably make it feel 100 times better to be in than standard! Looks really good!

    Xmas/New Year Meet and Drive

Really wanted to come to this tomorrow but after being under the car today and seeing the state of various suspension bushes I think i'll give it a miss! I'll be all over the place try to keep up! :) Have a good one though!

    Milton Keynes/Bedford meet, drinks, food......

No interest in the South East area for a meet in MK/Bedford, being miles away is probably the reason!

    New runaround - 1996 Renault Megane Coupe 2.0 16v

I've done 200 miles today and its used a smidge over half a tank, that's mostly motorway miles with a bit of town driving! That's also sitting at 80-90mph on the motorway as well! Suprisingly good, admittedly if I had a derv i'd get more but this car is still reasonably fun to drive! Indeed...

    New runaround - 1996 Renault Megane Coupe 2.0 16v

Update - Took a trip across to Ashford Kent today, sourced all of the interior bits that were missing and also an air-con heater motor off a lovely chap off Renault-Online.Net forum. Exhanged this all for an OMP strut brace which came with the Megane, little did I know that the F7R megane came...

    New runaround - 1996 Renault Megane Coupe 2.0 16v

Oh yes James! Unfortunately there'll be no 3rd gear drags, I may be a good 350kg lighter however you'll soon enough have double the power and potentially 3 times the amount of torque as me! :( However I could always dust off the Cup and school you! ;)

    They Grey Valver Thread

Thats very cheap! Cheaper than what my mate can get them for me and he 'says' that its cost price plus 5%! Just find a local guy off clio16valver and ask to borrow his cat! Cheeky but you only need it for one day, seeing as your not paying for the MOT then you could get him beers as a thank you...
