That scuttle scoop looks beautiful! How much did you pay for the airbox in the end?
Also if you think it might fail, chuck it through an MOT now. Then you'll have enough time to get the stuff sorted! :)
UPDATE (already!) -
Managed to get myself hold of some standard 16" Coupe wheels and 2 tyres with them. Need a refurb and 2 tyres and were in business, got a Ph1 airbox for it as well so can now get rid of the BMC! Hopefully get this exhaust changed over to the standard in the next couple of...
2 cars is the only way to roll!
Lol it wasn't James megane that led me to this tbh, just the price and bits I can make back on this tempted me the most.... The Failsport way ;)
Indeed about making my money back, will almost be free driving for the year!
Must admit I thought it would drive badly in comparison to the Cup/previous Mk1 16v's but it really is great to drive! Car feels very planted and handles well, will be even better once I sort out some better offset...
Oh yes, the Cups also insured so now have a choice of car to drive!
Indeed Dan, tyres are Toyo Proxy T1-R's/195/50/15's all round which are near enough new! Send us a pm if you want regarding them. ;)
So picked this up yesterday after seeing it on here for rather cheap, been wanting a runaround for a while and as much as I could bear with the Cup throughout these winter months it would be easier just have a comfier car! Here's a few snaps...
Was a little suspect...
Indeed Chris! Running 2118s with an et43 offset and 25mm spacers each side on the front, I reckon you'd be alright with the Ultras if your not mega low and run similar camber to mine (3 degrees negative). A little 'modifying' of the archs if not wouldnt be too hard! :)
Currently got FK...
Dodson - Front cambers set to 3 degrees of negative, cut the bumper to be different and not make it like a parachute aerowise. Will make air pass under the car a little better.
Ali - Nope havent lost any of the induction note, if anything the air filter in an almost enclosed heatshield has made the induction noise a little louder by reverberating in that area if that makes sense.
No there's no back to back figures for it, true you would still get cool air through the grills but also all the heat from the engine/exhaust manifold. The heatshield gets air fed from below the passenger light/bumper area. It probably doesnt make that much difference but some gain is better...
Extended runner length by 50mm Dan, given more peak power and a good chunk of mid to high rpm torque also.
Not sure what you mean, if you talking about the heatshield then it just has a Pipercross air filter with a heatshield around it for cooler air inlet temperatures.
