Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
AFPSML at this thread tonight, god it's funny when people argue.
:DAnd I love it when we all make up :D
Excellent work Jord! I didn't know that about megane valves, oh well live and learn. I'm sure she'll run a treat tommorrow. :)
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
iirc you are supposed to turn by hand when compression testing? Never had to do it myself
I think you should do a leak-down (if you can bring yourself to pull the head off ;)) like mini-valver said.
I Still don't want one though. Too obvious. Like a poor mans EVO X
Dafthead, I think a 335 is a no brainer! has to be one of the best engines ever made!
(and can i just say FLOL! at Danny 172's "Tits". Tickled me that did. ;))
I seriously don't know why you didn't just go for a new engine like everyone said, or at least a new crank in the first place.
But anyway, at least the new one will have 4 good journals on it :)
Keep at it mate.
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
I think your just going to want to whip the head off and check all the valves if you've got time.
such a farkin shame.
Anyways, don't worry about the cash.....can't take it with you an that ;)
And don't listen to people saying you shoulda got a 1*2, the Mk1 is so much...
The noise is almost certinally induction.
I'd say it's some resonance between the turbo and the camera. It probably won't sound that bad inside.
god it stays really really flat. I'm impressed
gearbox is made of cake and icing.
Renault gearboxes are not built for big turbos.
I'd say your dreaming with a WRC 4x4 206 setup tbh. A vag setup is a good idea.
I have to say though, i'd put money on it never being completed. 4WD system would be such a farking ball ache.
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
FFS! after all that. Good spot by the guy on Clio16valver. It's an easy mistake to make. I had assumed you'd put the white marks on tbh!
I've got my fingers crossed for your valves fella. Hope it's ok.
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
so if its timed up ok, you know it's getting fuel, you know you've got compression, that leaves spark.
Have you checked it's getting a good spark with one of those cheap plastic spark testers?
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
have you got a new starter on your other engine?
I take it the coilpack is the one from the old working setup? You checked that little cold start injector on the bottom of the manifold?
keep at it mate! you'll get there
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
No because the inlet cam doesent have the keyway for the dizzy.
Stumped. My best suggestion atm is the cold start injector or a dodgy connection somewhere.
