Cheers guys. Duno really, it just seems like there is something wrong with it as to go from 100 to 50 miles simply from turning off the engine seems a bit weird. When does your petrol warning light come on, as mine seems to come on when the gauge is on the first notch (the one above the red one)...
Paint should be able to withstand high pressure and moderate temperature. A pressure washer as used in garages should be perfectly safe, so bad paint job. Go get them mate!
On my 172 I find that when observing the onboard computer, that my remaining range (how far I have left before the petrol runs out based on fuel consumption) goes from 100 miles + to around 50 miles after turning it off. The petrol gauge itself looks like it is closer to 100 than 50 though, as...
My mate had this problem in his 1.2 dynamique. We put it down to him having fitted the 172 wheels and no spacers causing the inside of the wheel to rub against the inside of the wheel housings when turning at lock.
Played it but wasn't too keen on the cornering at all... recommend PGR3, or alternatively wait for Forza 2, the first game was largely unappreciated by the masses but it was a corker, taking the best elements of Gran Turismo, but the implementation of the driving line allows a great way to learn...
David, really pleased with the products and customer service you offer, just wondering if you have considered modifying you P&P costs at all, as Serious Performance is free, and to pay a fiver when all you want is a product costing, say, £6, doesn't seem to make sense! Maybe increase the product...
Ah the heart of a true enthusiast! But aim higher my friend, if people are willing to pay more wouldn't you rather you did a good job on it rather than those cowboys who spend ages on a car but have no real understanding of the molecular composition of paints?!?!
Me neither - working in marketing for BMW has a better ring to it than car detailing - but still after having worked in the car industry for 5 years, and having spoken to many prestige car owners I have identified a massive demand without even looking. There seems a real opportunity to cater for...
Sweet, cheers Rich.
By the way, as a marketing question, how much do you charge for your "full" detailing service?
I currently charge £50 for shampoo, dry, polish, sealant, wax (paint & wheels), tyres, windows and full interior clean (although I only like to work on relatively ok cars as...
Two issues here I am combining for the sake of brevity:
1. Noticed one of my alloys seems to have been repsrayed, the area concerned seems to lack the colour and laquer finish of the other wheels. Also, some light curbing on several of the rims. Kind of blended it in using a touch up pen, but...
Very impressed with the one from cleannshiny works a treat... very soft.
The waffle weave drying towel also works pretty well, although not quite as absorbent as synthetic chamois, but seems to leave the surface slightly shinier once the waters removed.
I just got a mint 172 with 24k for £7500, so I reckon you could knock at least a couple hundred off it, depending on it's condition, tyres especially - if they are worn take some off, also if it's service is due. Remember, the £7995 that they want is an asking price based on their valuation...
Fair play then!
As for insurance though, I've been driving for 4 years and I'm 21 but up untill now have had no personal scheme to build up a no claims bonus. I just got a 172 and got insured fully comp for £1100 this year which I thought was very reasonable. Excess however is £750.... so...
TBH I think you would definitely be better of saving your money and invest in a 172/ 182. No amount of modding will give you the subtle styling of the official specifications. Plus you will have the nice leather interior, more features and the glorious 2.0 litre unit...
Also, I'm not sure if...
Seen coming from junction 26 I think of the m25, I was in black 172 and was following for a bit before my exit in St Albans, was last Tuesday evening... we were looking cool! :rasp:
Cool. Yeh thats my only criticism of cleanandshiny.... having to pay the P&P irrespective of how much you order. A fiver for some QD to be delivered doesn't seem that cost effective, so might just go for the one stocked by serious performance as free delivery! Hey - I am a student! :rasp:
Whats everyones opinions? Working with a black car here too... never used QD before so interested to see the results. Could be a good time saver, and save water too!! Cheers
Yeh, wheel acid can really corrode wheels badly over time. Not too bad on the Clio wheels because the nuts are concealed behind the center cap. It normally corrodes the wheel nuts, and when they look rusty it ruins the whole appearance of the wheels. Once your wheels are clean use a good...
Its mint black paint so came up a treat after several hours of hard graft. Going to just shampoo it then another 2 layers of XXX at the weekend. I think if you have the time then by hand is fine, plus I have lots of wax on wax off technique from work. Im the ORIGINAL karate kid!!!;)
Ok time to...
Was doing it in the sun, i'd say a satisfying amount of resistance taking it off (so you know it worked!). Looked amazing just with the sealant, the XXX just made it even better. As I said, untill it rained. But today gave it a high pressure wash off (at work - not my hose!) and after a quick...
Got the M Sealant and XXX Hardcore Wax.... absolutely sick results. Lasted about 5 minutes before it rained though :(
Highly Recommended. The plastic Gel stuff works amazingly too... and only need miniscule amounts to shine and protect a whole interior/ exterior rubbers and plastics.
Mint - looks good. But sorry have to agree that putting Brembo stickers on non- Brembo brakes is pretty lame. Like the red though! And the tinted windows look really good on the silver.
Yeh I like the shark fin aerial too - what make is it, looks like the Saab one? Looks the nuts.
Re: I cant be f**ked to wash my car!
When I buy anything, I try to take as good care of it as possible. The fact that I love driving, cars and my 172 makes me take even greater care. Also, I enjoy cleaning my car- I love going out once its looking its best. It's not sad its called taking pride...
I rate turtle wax extreme shampoo. the others i've tried in the past were pretty good too. i think turtle gets overlooked too easilly - they are a great range of inexpensive and easy to use products which is more than adequate for the vast majority of people's needs.
