I'd probably use the 135 the most I think. I use my 70-200 a lot for it at the minute, but it just gets a bit big, heavy and noticeable at times.
It looked like you were going sideways, but on second watch I see the pan. Doh. :)
Editing the MOV files can take a while and a lot of computer...
A new thread might be a good idea as it could encourage a few more people to join in. I might try again this year as I could do with an excuse to get out and experiment.
I'd be tempted to save a bit longer and get one of the newer generation cameras TBH.
The older ones can still take fantastic shots, but the newer ones will let you get shots that the older ones can't. (High ISO performance, focus performance, FPS etc).
The 20D and D40 bodies should be given...
Nice choice! The 35L shots look good too. I am going to see if I can borrow a couple of the top end primes to have a play with at some point. 35,85 & 135 = Done. :)
What are you using for the slider? I have also been playing with video a bit recently and wanted to make something but all...
I found a handy iPhone app for Samsung TVs. "PlugPlayer".
I allows you to browse your NAS or USB attached to the TV and choose what to play. You can stream mp3s and photos to the phone or to the TV, and the TV will also play back the films. It's making my media player a bit redundant!
Careful with the VGA adaptor. Not all applications can be shown through it, in fact I am fairly sure that only a few can. Well work looking into before you buy one.
I've got some Blazzeo triggers from eBay. They cost around £10 with tigger an two receivers. They haven't skipped a beat in the 2+ years I have had them.
Pocketwizzards are the other end of the scale and are also highly regarded. :)
The 17-50 will not give you anything special outdoors IMHO. The f2.8 will help you in lower light situations, but it will not give you a particularly narrow DOF between 17-50mm unless you are shooting (very) close to the subjects.
I recently had to take some outdoor group shots for a company...
Even the 1.4 is recessed enough that you would have to have gone full r****d to manage to damage it. I don't bother with anything on my 50, I have a UV and CPL for my others but they are both 77mm. The UV only goes on when I am going to be in a dusty environment or when they are lots of kids...
I've still got mine. The batteries don't last long at all in it, which is why I stepped over to the Harmony. Great toy though, might have a look on eBay to see what it'll fetch!
Cheers. Went with a Samsung plasma in the end and it is amazing. Plug a HDD into the side and you have HD recording, time shift etc, it has a load of Internet functions that I'll never use, even hiring films at a couple of quid for 24 hours!
It's 3D too, which I wasn't really interested in but...
Loving the iPhone remote for the tv too. It's also good that the Linksys wireless dongle was accepted. I thought it might be like Sony and only accept their own brand.
Happy Samsung customer!
Thats an awesome deal! Nothing comes close over here. I got one set of glasses free and have no blueray either. Will have to wait for the media player update to support 3D.
FFS. I'm just back from nearly 2 hours of looking around the local superstore and am still no closer to deciding. I always thought that Plasma were better but more expensive, but it seems that the new LED screens are more expensive and the plasmas offer good value for money.
What is the reason...
Cheers, I hadn't looked at LG yet.
I had focussed on Sony (52EX700) as i already have a Sony panel and am happy with the quality, and the Samsung 6700 range as the picture just stood out against all others.
I'll have to take another look next week and see what LG have to offer.
I'm looking to pick up a new TV as our 32" is too small for the room and we could use a TV upstairs these days.
I'm looking to spend a max of 1300 and want full hd, good picture quality and good connectivity and ideally 50"+ as the screen is more than 3 metres from the sofa.
I am leaning...
I have a Mordaunt Short speaker set aimed at the home cinema market. The sound is incredible compared to my old Harmon Kardon cinema set.
They are old now so are not made any more, but have taken some abuse over the years and are still going strong.
Firmware = 4.1, baseband = 05.14.02
If you have upgraded your baseband, you cannot downgrade it again.
iClarrified have all the guides you could need. If it is not listed there, it is not worth trying IMHO.
