I used to have a Tokina 12-24 f4 on my 40D. It was an awesome lens, built like a tank and sharp pics through the range. I was sad to let it go but I could only use it from 18mm onwards on my 5DII.
Some creative shots and angles in there. Nice location for a shoot too.
You should embed a couple of images in the thread, it makes them easier to view.
Just make sure that the head and legs are strong enough to support the camera body and whatever lens you are sticking on it. The sales blurb always states how many kgs they can hold. The big heavy ones normally allow you to press the shutter button and still get a motion free image. The lighter...
Looking forward to seeing the shots.
You won't regret it. ... well, you might if you want speedy autofocus, but aside from that, you won't regret it. ;)
Supposed to be a good lens. The 15-85 is the crop sensor replacement for the now very old EF 28-135. The IS and everything else will be significantly better on the 15-85 I would have thought.
To fix the firefox problem you can try this too as a last resort. Be aware that it will delete all of your favourites, saved passwords and addins that you have too so you may want to export your bookmarks if you want to use them again.
Close Firefox
Press the windows key + "R" to open the...
Find someone who can backup your files and give you a fresh install of windows.
There are loads of programs that can improve performance a bit, but sometimes a fresh instal is just quicker and easier to do rather than faffing around troubleshooting.
I didn't save any and he does not put any images online. You can do a search through Flickr by camera. It should give a good idea of image quality and lots of people upload full size images.
Lol @ Danny. To be classed as Pro you have to be able to pay the bills with your work. I'm a fair way...
Only really The Big Picture.
Planetx is always good for a look when the updates come in and Ians too, when he updates it. ;) I dont have the URLS to either here as they are on my works PC.
I'll take a look at the ones above, it's always good to have an easy bit of reading first thing in the...
A mate of mine just got one recently and let me have a quick play with it. My thoughts:
- Zoom: Insane range. Gets you really close and the stabiliser seems to work well with it too.
- Controls: lots of the adjustments need multiple presses of buttons or menus. As long as you have time to...
ukskew on here got some screw on close up filters that helped him get some great shots. It might be worth looking into as a cheap alternative to a dedicated macro lens.
Makes it lighter too with the seats folded down. Better weight distribution, like a fly walking on water IIRC.
I saw my first one of these the other day, and it wasn't quite as gay as I thought from photos. They do have a nice exhaust note.
£200 wont buy you a replacement kit lens that does anything miles better than what you already have. An ultra wide angle is probably the best shout so far for what you want to use it for and is worth paying a touch more for.
Otherwise, external flash?
Edit to add that the 18-135 is a good...
It was more for my own curiosity than anything. :)
Canon do have a rating for shutter life on their models though. I think that its only the pros who ever get close to meeting the limits. Like Nick, I had a 40D fail with less than 2000 shots, and it carried on after the repair for another 18,000...
An alternative to the Dakine is the Burton Zoom. Its another snowboard bag which fits everything and even has a padded pouch for a 15" laptop (and straps to fix your snowboard to your back). I took mine away in the summer weighing 8kgs and it was still comfy. Burton bags are bombproof too.
