Yeah the more I think about it the more I wish I had stuck with Racing Blue and just kept it stripeless.
My main concern after having just had a black car was how much effort is required to keep the flat colour looking good. Ive done my fair share of weekends breaking my back with the car...
Dont really see the point in doing it on a front wheel drive car other than to reduce wear on components but if you are driving hard enough to need to heel and toe you obviously dont care!
Ive never noticed any problems in an FWD on the track as the wheels dont lock due to all the weight being...
Dont get me started! Ordered mine mid June - went for Racing Blue with Competition Stripes. Was told a week later that delivery was mid August. A week after that was told they cant do stripes. So I said ok change the car to Titanium. A week later they say because you changed the colour delivery...
The Honda is better built and more refined.
Straight line performance is for all intents and purposes even.
No one here will argue about those points.
If you can afford to pay the extra then buy a CTR.
If you can live without the gadgets or can afford to upgrade the CTR then buy one...
I hope the bloke gets his car back if thats what he wants and wish him the best of luck.
If mine was nicked then to be honest I would pray it was found burnt out. My old mans car was nicked and just as he was getting close to seeing some insurance money for a new motor it was found dumped in a...
I guess it could be, but then that comes back to what I said once before about why are Renault giving right hand drive cars to left hand drive European countries when their UK dealers are crying out for stock.
I guess Renault get paid the same amount for the car whether it goes for £14700 at...
What Ive always wanted to know is how are motorpoint able to get 20 of them in stock (if they are in stock then they havent got people queuing up to buy one) when a Renault dealer cant get one for 3 months even if you wave £15k cash in front of them?
These prices are only an invitation to treat. They are not offering a contract at that price for you to accept.
When you go to buy that car you are asking them to agree to making a contract with you at that price and they have every right to refuse or accept the offer.
Read the EVO group test with the 182, Type R, Cooper S, 206 180 and ST170.
Not saying pick the one they said was best but rather read it through, think about what you want from a car and pick the one that best fits your requirements.
I found it works really well and you can drive without wipers at 40mph+. Helps you see better at night when its raining too. So I cant knock its performance, it really was good although it had to be applied once every couple of weeks to keep it at its best. Also made it easier to scrape windows...
We are all fit young men, no problem gettin in and out of sports cars! So long as you can support your body weight using your arms its a piece of cake!
You only see complaints about this in the press because the average motoring journalist/person who can afford a sports car has seen better...
I cant think of a car this side of £20k that I would rather own over a V6.
But this side of £40k - Sorry but I can honestly think of plenty.
This side of £30k - Id rather have a VX220 Turbo. No contest.
Im afraid its no good talking about V6s spitting out an MX-5, even my old Vectra...
Cant really condone much of the stuff I am reading here. It will as already pointed out result in your car getting keyed in the middle of the night etc. The police will be quick to do you for assault if you give the kid a kicking but will not be able to prove who keyed your car.
You need to be...
How in gods name have you managed to put 2k on your car already?
Nice to know that by ten thousand mine should be delivering the goods but thats gonna be at least a year after I pic the car up!
I dont understand this import business. There is obviously a huge shortage of genuine UK models due to the long lead time.
So which country are Renault making these right hand drive import cars for?!???!?!?!?!?!
Surely by now Renault would put their sensible heads on and say:
"hold on...
I am always confused by these power measurements and even more confused because Ive never been to a rolling road.
What is the actual manufacturers BHP figure for the Cup? The "172" figure is not BHP but another measurement which is marginally higher than BHP isnt it?
Also dont these...
The second hand Impreza market has really gone through the floor. They are now so cheap that the baseball cap and neons brigade are trading in their year old 1.2 Corsas for them. Thankfully they are still trying to make their 1.2 16v Extremes look like Cups/172s but they havent yet started...
Stereo controls on the wheel are sh1te. I got well annoyed with them on the Vectra cos when you go round a bend and turn the wheel they are all upside down and back to front. This is a pain if like me you are flicking through radio stations every 5 seconds.
The Renault stalk is the superior...
Just go out and drive 50 miles (2 hours at most if you leave the concrete jungle) every evening. I can easily put the stereo on and drive for hours on end just going around in circles as I find it so relaxing. Would take you less than a week to hit your target. You could drive to the coast and...
Here are the independent figures from the back of Evo:
Cup. 0-60 = 6.5, 0-100 = 17.7, bhp/tonne = 171
182. 0-60 = 6.6, 0-100 = 17.5, bhp/tonne = 168
As far as I know those figures are 2 up and with a full tank of fuel. I think they do a number of runs in opposite directions to cancel out...
"the CTR image in my eyes is a knob that thinks he is quick and cool"
Couldnt agree more.
I also have noticed that your average Type R owner is not that smart especially with money and has almost always got their car by taking on crippling levels of finance.
Some of them are decent chaps...
Well rarity and exclusivity are indeed a point in the V6s favour. This would definitely appeal to Clio and Hot Hatch enthusiasts who want the ultimate Clio/Hot Hatch.
Cant argue with that. This is also an online forum for Clio and Hot Hatch enthusiasts so the V6 will be held in high regard...
"Lets stick a V6 engine in the back of the clio and give it RWD and 255 bhp."
Great idea, Renault should be congratulated.
"Lets price it at the same level as some kick ass sports cars and rally replicas that would eat it for breakfast"
Er not such a good idea Renault.
"haha.. its funny...
Well I have been accused of missing the point of the V6.
I am guilty as charged, no denying it.
Dont get me wrong I do like the V6 and I wouldnt say no if someone offered me one. Its also a pretty nippy car no mistaking it. But I keep coming back to the main problem which is either...
