Ha I remember when I got my last car which I bought privately.
I gave the bloke a cheque for £8k which he took to his bank.
He got a statement the next day and it showed the £8k in his account because his bank had updated his balance even though it hadnt fully been cleared by my bank at the...
Yeah some people have raised an eyebrow when I say I use washing up liquid but no one has yet explained what harm it might do to the wheels compared to a harsh acid like Wonder Wheels?
I figure if the latter is safe then washing up liquid wont do it any harm. Its designed to make delicate...
I have one those electronic cat scaring alarms. Costs about a tenner or something and runs on two of those little PP3 9V batteries - they last about a month. Cats absolutely cannot stand the thing. We have a number of cat lovers in our street that each seem to have a few of the buggers.
The...
Wont doing it dry scratch the wheels?
Think Id rather stick with Jay Cloth and washing up liquid as it works as well as wonder wheels but is not as corrosive.
"Thats crap though as I have seen people killed from what would be termed relatively small accidents on Modern cars and seen more sewrious accidents in older cars where people have walked away. Luck of the draw"
Hmm there is a school of thought that says in order to achieve high scores in...
Well I ordered mine exactly a month after yours Coco. Allowing for the time yours took to be shipped across the channel etc there is a chance I could get mine in August but it will be close as to whether it is built and shipped out before the factory closes. Otherwise late Sept early Oct :(
Not bein able to buy one and dyin if you crash it does have a detrimental effect on the driving experience for me personally but others are quite happy to overlook those minor flaws :D
I hear the expression "drivers car" a lot but it seems to cover a small focused area of attributes....and...
Why is the 182 better than the Willy?
Well because you cant buy a new Willy. Reason being that they pollute and therefore dont meet current emissions laws and Renault dont want to sell cars that kill their occupents in what by todays standards are relatively minor accidents.
A new vs old...
OK I know that using washing up liquid on body work is an absolute no-no BUT...
I have been using wonder wheels on the alloys and you have to be damn careful with that stuff as its an acid so if it flicks on your paint or if you have a damaged wheel you can be in serious trouble.
I figured...
Leo mate let me have your car and then you can have mine when it comes in October yeah?
Personally I think the "0X" plates look better than the "5X" plates but thats just my personal taste. Also I am none to chuffed about picking up a new car when the rainy season is starting.
Black Gold looks great. I am a little surprised that so many people here have walked into dealers and managed to pick up cars that were "in stock". Also surprised that so many of these cars are in one of the most desirable colours as this isnt the first black gold someone in here has just picked...
I think you have missed a trick there. You should have said "yeah I also need a decent childs seat". Then if he had said "well as it happens...." you would then have something solid to take to the old bill.
The game is over now and all the gear and any chance of catching them is gone.
This is taken from Honest Johns FAQ website:
Unless it is a super-high-performance car, current thinking is to leave the factory filled oil in the engine for the first 12 months or 10,000 miles in order to promote some wear and enable the piston rings and bores to bed themselves in. After...
With me I became interested in the 182 and did a search for Clio clubs/forums so I could get more info. I had owned two Clios but they were just 1.2 16vs.
I went on to order a 182 a couple of weeks after registering mainly thanks to the information here but wont bother joining proper until...
If the police were serious about crime they would have dozens of people browsing ebay all day long as half the stuff on there is nicked same as the local free ad papers.
Cant wait to see the pics. I want to see what my car will look like but all the titanium pics so far have been too small or not very good photos.
I notice you say that suspension is harsh, did you get the Cup packs? I went for them because I would probably regret not having them mainly...
