Hmmm so we have a gentleman with 25k to spend who wants a quick sporty motor and whilst he might like some practicality he would consider a 2 seater.
I have to say that in the scenario the Clio V6 would be at the bottom of my shopping list.
The Clio V6 is completely outclassed by other 2...
The mid-sept date is a bit dishonest as it is simply calculated by adding what was the lead time (8 to 10 weeks) to the date you ordered the car. It doesnt take account of factory closures though. If the factory really does close in August then we should be thinking late October....
Part of me still wants a Type R as it is better looking, better built and has a nicer interior. But as you say the Clio can be purchased for a knocked down £13.5k and the basic low spec Type R is £15.5 at best.
Mind you I would have still got a Type R if the lead time wasnt as bad as the 182...
Evo did a group test.
182 came out on top with the Cooper S 2nd and the Type R 3rd. The latter two are far more expensive though. The Pug 180 got absolutely slated.
The 182 was actually far quicker than the manufacturers figures, quicker to 60 than all the others and second fastest to 100...
It should just be a standard penalty of three points and a fine mate which as far as I know is the normal penalty for getting caught by a traffic light camera - unless you went through 10 seconds after it went red and at double the speed limit.
I cant see an 04 VW being around in 14 years either. They were well built back in the days of the Mk1 and Mk2 but recent models have been poor yet they still cost a bomb.
Anyway I have had 8 cars and the longest Ive kept one is 14 months let alone 14 years so who cares!!!
Besides I am...
Christ how many Titanium 182s do motorpoint have in stock?!?!
Why the hell am I having to wait until October for one??????
Yet more anger at Renault. How come motorpoint have shed loads yet a proper Renault dealer cant get you one for love nor money???
Yes you are right in, laser jammers are not illegal in the same way that radar jammers are - not that the latter work anyway!
However if you get caught with a laser jammer you will probably get busted for attempting to pervert the course of justice or maybe even wilfully obstructing a...
Yeah detecting the laser has never been the problem, all the detector does is tell you that you have got a ticket. Pretty daft spending £300 on a device that tells you that you have three points and a £60 fine when you get sent a letter with the same information free of charge anyway!!!!
Your...
Yeah I have been reading this topic for a while and cant understand why all the worry about getting the laser detection working. Once the alarm goes off you have about 0.3 of a second to react and reduce your speed to the legal limit or your busted. Naturally this is impossible.
Now given that...
Call me a dumb ass but that metal looking Cliosport tax disk holder - how does it stick to the windscreen and how do you change the tax disk?
Ive never had one like that before and dunno if I should buy when I join.
To be honest Id rather get one tomorrow with no cup spoiler pack and just buy the spoilers myself. Its £200 for the pack so the w*nkers will probably want £500 for it if you buy it seperately but Id hand that money over with a smile on my face if I had the car now!
I have had loads of vehicles ranging from 50 year old classic motorcycles/cars to the latest technology and none of them showed even the slightest drop on the dipstick between recommended services. I have stripped an engine down to the final nut and bolt and rebuilt it from scratch and that...
Well mine (ordered mid June) was due mid-August until the stripe fiasco.
With no stripes possible I opted for met paint instead.
I then had a phone call saying because of the colour change it had been delayed til Sept 13th and they would just send a letter to confirm it in writing. Not sure...
Yeah I think they are pretty experienced and know their way around for sure.
Ive no doubt the Cup could lap quicker than the Impreza. I drove an Evo VI round a track and it had levels of understeer that even an Austin Montego would be ashamed off. Ive heard the Impreza is no better....
I...
When it comes to people talking about track days and cars its hard to seperate the truth from the bulls**t so just bear in mind I am only telling you what they told me!
Apparently the Impreza which is pretty old has had the boost increased so that it produces about 300bhp (I think it should be...
I have been speaking to a couple of lads who regular attend trackdays at Castle Combe. They dont have Clios, one has a Swift and the other an Impreza. Funnily enough the former set the quickest laptimes but I am interested to know what laptimes 172/Cup/182 owners here have done up there so I can...
Pity Renault didnt provide that level of service to me instead of rejecting my request outright. W**kers. I would be getting my in a few weeks time rather than 8 to 12 weeks....
I do think some of these magazines are worth the money. £3.80 for EVO is not much as you are getting a lot of magazine for your cash and if you are buying a £15k car its very small in comparison.
Also I think the information within is valuable.
When choosing between a Type R and a 182 I...
So this whole thread and all the bad language and abuse etc is because a faulty car locked itself with the keys in the ignition whilst the car was being borrowed from someone by someone but someone else who wasnt the someone who borrowed the car from someone else was wrongly named as the someone...
Yeah and dont forget a VW (or BMW/Lexus/Merc etc) owner has paid twice as much for their car as a Renault/Vauxhall/Ford that has the same performance and specification.
The only thing they have got for all that extra expense is an image. The image being that they are successful and can afford...
I am with FN04 XZE on this one. I have read both threads and dont see the problem?
Why do you need to defend yourself over the article? It hasnt offended anyone?
Kieron, how exactly did you get your car with Competition Stripes? I ordered one with these in mid/late June and they called me a couple of weeks later saying they cant do them. As a result of the delay (I chose met paint instead) I wont get the frickin thing til mid-Sept now at the earliest...
