No it was from a broker but actually came from Inchcape Renault in Southampton. To be honest I wouldnt recommend getting a car from them, they should be ashamed of themselves handing over a car in that condition. If I get the foam and splitter sorted I think I would just put up with the paint...
It was absolutely pi**ing down and me and the delivery bloke got soaked as it was. The car had been driven over a hundred miles to me in filthy conditions. The only thing I spotted was the scratched interior strip which I noted down on the form I signed.
I saw I had only one can of foam but...
Er cos it broke down before it had been delivered and now that it finally has been delivered the front of the car is cracked and hanging off, there is a big splodge of grey paint on the drivers door, the dashboard insert is scratched, one of the cans of tyre foam is missing and its slower than...
Yeah I said that but it was absolutely hammering down and the car had just been driven up from Southampton in that filth. I only noticed this stuff when I started washing it. It was hard to tell when I first looked round it, I was focussing more on whether the splitter was actually there along...
I am off work next week so hopefully I can get the splitter fixed then. They had better fix it then or the s**t will hit the fan. To be honest I think its a damn disgrace that they have had this car two weeks now fixing the engine management light and yet it turns up with faults.
It is...
Ok on top of the splitter being smashed to f**k and the aluminium strip being scratched, there is also grey paint on the drivers side door on the bottom half. Hard to describe, looks like someone had a rag with grey paint on it and brushed it against my car. Cant try and T Cut it cos its...
Ok alumunium plastic looking trim to the right of the steering wheel is scratched. Probably by keys.
Worse though is that the front splitter is smashed to f**k. Hard to notice it at first, it is cracked almost right through in two places and not properly in place. Looks like a five year old...
Still no sign of it! It was supposed to be leaving Southampton first thing this morning for delivery by 12!!! Good job I took the whole day off and not a half day!
Wonder if it will turn up at all!
Well here I am sat at my PC playing the waiting game. The car has to come up from Southampton to Bristol where I live. The driver was leaving first thing apparently.
Thats a long way for a Clio to go without breaking down...
Ive got my checklist that I printed off from this site sat out in...
You should get a CCTV system covering your front door in combination with a security light.
Doubt the police would do anything with the tape but it would really deter someone from trying to break in if they were lit up like a candle with a video camera pointing at them. Wouldnt cost you...
Wouldnt use washing up liquid on the paint (although my neighbour does and his paint is fine) but its safe on alloys. Its never done my alloys any harm after using it once or twice a week for years, mind you neither has Wonder Wheels - it just discoloured the paint where a bit splashed over...
Do NOT use Meguiars Hot Rims or whatever it is called. Some muppet on here recommended it so me being a mug went out and got some.
Tried it today (on the courtesy car hehe) and it is absolutely useless. Comes with enough warnings on the bottle leading you to believe that it is pretty potent...
How do you start the engine without the key to disable the immobiliser?
If I had the skill to get past the immobiliser I wouldnt waste my time on a something like a 1.2 16v, Id nick a decent car!!! (no disrespect to 1.2 16v owners - I owned two).
They blatantly stole the keys or he left them in the car. Impossible to nick these cars without them unless you can lift the car up on a trailer?
Mind you a bloke at work just had his Impreza nicked from right outside his house - and they didnt have the keys!
Am I mighty pi$$ed off that I got a titanium!!!!!!!! That inferno looks great.
Of course when I ordered mine in mid June there was no such colour. Finally getting it on Tuesday and there you are getting that stunning motor at the same time!!!!!!
12 weeks wait? Why is he messing you around? Thats how long my cupped 182 in silver took, you shouldnt believe what dealers say when they initially give you a date as they just give you the standard answer of 6 to 8 weeks. Actually I should be getting mine on Tuesday and thats 16 weeks after I...
A gentleman would do the decent thing and make sure you aint too much out of pocket even if he only gave you a few hundred notes.
Guess the Ombudsman is your only hope.
I would ask him nicely to pay the £700. If he says no say ok mate fine and walk off.
Then wait til he gets his replacement car sneak round one night and key it.
I think this is the light that came on in my mates Extreme. It went out after a while but then his car started choking and stuff. Had to go in for a new Oxygen sensor or something like that.
My courtesy car doesnt have the drivers one-touch working. How do they enable it? (making plans to fix it myself when mine turns up and inevitably doesnt work)
/t0y
They are sticking to their story about the engine management light although I have asked them to clarify exactly what they did to fix it.
Apparently they had to move the car from some distribution centre to their dealership in Southampton for fixing hence the delay and they will get back to me...
Wow how do you afford a Dynamique when you are 18 and at Uni!!!!?
When I was at Uni I worked every hour under the sun just to pay my living costs! Let alone buy a car that costs at least £4k second hand and over a grand to insure at your age!!!
You can catch up with them when they have to...
