Ah so putting mdf or something down would make it closer, tricky. Hows thick is the total unit? I'll have a look under my seats later on and try and figure something out, you have treadlines I take it? Trophy?
Ah thats the reason, what's likely to be causing it is resonance from not being secured, major ball ache but what I would do and done in the past is take the carpet up and put a piece of MDF where you want the sub to go ( sickaflex the mdf down ), carpet back on and screw it into the board with...
Because Baby Blue will stand out to all the haters and Scum out there like a benefit payment being stopped, esp hoodrats and they'll take the piss out of it and decide to do what they do best which is vandalize, unless you keep it in a garage and never park in the street / car parks.
it will mould to the contours over time, is the sub secured down at all? like place a bit of MDF under the Carpet and screwed down? i'd put that under it and will pad it out nicely. would stop it banging about over bumps too. Expanding foam might work too.
You have baby blue wheels or would like? either way Don't you'll never ever get rid of a car with that and will get keyed and kicked.
Personally if no extra power wanted i'd just slam it, looks pretty good as std, and lowe Miltek get something different they overpriced and overrated.
Recaros...
I'd want to see it with a warm engine too, see how it sounds, also try and get inside and wiggle the wheel about and listen for any clunks, knocks, creaks etc, personally id want to drive it, cant check gearbox, clutch, brakes and bearings with it sitting.
lol not trying to scare it will last longer than I implied, might take it to 519 to be done, £65 seems worth it even for a year, time it right and it might break off in time for the MOT when I need the cat back on lol
well the steering will be under more load when it's still won't it so turn full lock each way and listen to it whine, squeal like a pig.
I would be careful of rust around the arse though, expensive to put right properly unless you can find a bodger to chop it out and coat with filler and paint...
Out of curiosity, do they warrant the work? always been scared of welding a zorst as they normally fail around the weld and break.
Would like to have this at some point after MOT and decat / weld it all together to get rid of that blowing noise coming out of it.
Valver, rust mainly, and above stuff, generally i'd make sure it's all documented with belts etc etc, body parts wishbones etc aren't the most expensive and any car this old will need these things, unless it's advertised as minter than mint and never been in the rain.
its only about 5mm thick but proper dense stuff and it moulds as well so no gaps and doesn't stretch or pinch, it's epic stuff.
Not sure whereabouts you are, SCR used to sell the stuff.
Easy dude, get some sound deadening foam from any car audio dealer ( decent one ) and cut it and place underneath it'll stop it right away it's magic stuff, all my speakers and fittings are padded out with the stuff and I now have pure harmony with the stereo at any volume, time consuming but...
Bruuuuv Check Dem Rims aaat, No wonder he gave them to you he couldn't sell them, haven't seen them since the Revs magazine days, proper old school for people who couldn't afford OZ Antares at the time.
Worse a mate of mine thought it would be a great idea and put one in a corsa C barely fits at all and took the better part of a day just to get the bloody thing in had to strip the whole front end off. In the end it failed to even drive due to too much power, 200bhp in one of them doesn't work...
Odd for one of those bulbs to go out, might be hard to get the same color, I'd say it's easier to just get a pair and change both of a similar color. Pain in ass of a job just to change a bulb though.
