You know the engine can get really hot when you run it out of fuel? check the cat underneath next time and it'll probably be glowing. Not a great idea to run it out, neither is it to bounce it off the starter motor from being to weak to push it lol on a 1*2 you have 5 litres left when the light...

In short no it doesn't change anything, in fact they only thing that can happen when it gets extremely low is the engine can get very hot, had the Cat Glowing on my old car when I ran it out lol In fact the less the better due to less weight, full tank weighs like an extra person.

Most work with Ipod anyway with Usb they all say in advert what they compatible with barely any work with Android but also be careful if they say ipod doesn't mean iphone, they generally list iphone separately. Alpine best for quality and connectivity.
