BenR, I can tell you Magnex DO go to lengths to produce their exhausts, because they wanted my 172 for a few days (in Oct 2000) to design the exhaust around and do testing on.

Ben, I dont think youre going to get massive increases, at a guess maybe 4/5bhp on your car. I had a magnex on my M-reg 16v, and it wasnt that loud, so you should be ok. Dont know if K-Tec do a system for your car? K-Tec exhausts are very good though if they do do one its worth looking into...

yeah ben, if you drive your car with magex on exactly as you drive your car without, I dont think youll notice any mpg differences.
What year is your RSI? and is it a 1.8?
I didnt notice any change in my MPG, but expect to drive at higher revs for the noise, which isnt good for economy!! I always find myself sometimes changing down early just for the burble.
I had a Magnex on my old Clio 16v, and I liked it a lot, but always wanted a bit more noise. I also now have one on my 172 and its perfect, great at idle and low revs, can get a bit noisy about 70/80 (motorway speed), but youre always going to get extra noise from an exhaust like that.
I think this may have been mentioned before but seeing as I got a letter from them about it, I thought Id post.
Haynes are now selling a Clio book which covers stuff like body/wheels/ice/security/suspension/brakes/engines/insurance/lights/interiors/etc.
The price is £19.95. Remember...

It looked a bit flooded when I went up there a couple of days before.
Only went towards Chelmsford on the A130 New Years day. Kept an eye out for your boat but couldnt see it! ;)
I agree with wilf, Ive also owned a 200SX (H reg, so mid-shape), and now own a 172. Over 80/90mph the 200sx would beat a 172, but up to 80 I think the 172 would def. have the edge. Handling on the 200sx, especially in the wet, is pretty poor, as also are the brakes. The 172 is a better car...
