It's specific springs and dampers on the GT, others will most likely fit but the spec of the standard ones were much different from the normal mk3, my mate had a mk3 dynamique S at the same time I had my GT DCI and the difference in the way they handled and the body roll was massive.
Just...
I honestly think your overcomplicating it, id stick a new dephaser on it, i get you had an issue with a faulty dephaser, ive not heard of any issues with them previously, if its a faulty part then renault should be swapping it out under the parts warranty? Id imagine if a known issue has been...
Got the belts all finished today, got the coolant changed and then ran upto temp without the aux setup fitted to check for leaks, all good!
Much better!
The old radiator support was badly corroded as they do on these, picked up as an advisory on the last few MOT so replaced it with a new one...
Yes 1.6 is just a stroked version.
I was curious as to what car it was going into due to gearbox mounting. I would imagine it will throw an error if it doesn't have a dephaser solenoid plugged in, it's maybe worth contacting fastchip at www.fastchip.nl to see if they can offer a solution for...
I run EPAS on my van, I'm not sure id want it on a dedicated track car, as the feel isnt great and its been a little inconsistent (motor etc is all good) imo its better than no PAS for a track car, as i dont think im strong enough or fast enough to catch it when it gets out of shape without PAS...
Correct me if im wrong but that looks like a K4M 1.6 16v engine, at least the rocker cover, no VVT with that circle bit at the front, centre.
engine:
1.6 16v pre VVT:
F4R 172/182:
As I've not got got a 2/4 post lift I just pulled the engine and box out in one go, I found that much easier than wrestling the thing in and out on the deck. - If you have the space and tooling that's what id be doing
I wouldn't bother with the manifold, decat and centre delete you will probably just gain a horrible flat spot, never found the paper filter to be a restriction either, i think people fit the "v6 airbox" that RPD sell so may be worth doing that if you want to change the inlet setup.
Likely as dan says above, he will have caught the back plate when removing or fitting the wheel, on the OSR when turning LEFT a tiny bit of play in the wheel bearing is just enough for it to catch, probably find its touching the disk at the bottom you should be able to see it if you look underneath
Bit stumped with this one guys,
wipers work as they should when they are working, no sign of any bent or sticky linkage - happens no matter if the windscreen is wet or dry (which rules out drag on the blades overloading a weak motor?)
Suddenly the wipers will just stop either at the fully...
just take the original to Pirtek and get them to make a replacement, as long as its roughly the same length you can just run it on a similar route to the original. I seen one recently on a mk1 kangoo where someone had a pirtek hose and it was just ran over the top of the engine and then down to...
I cant remember who it was that posted the cheap USPRO long aviation spanners in here, I ordered a set and have sat on them for about 6 months never needing to use them. Doing a timing belt this weekend, wanted to get a ratchet spanner on a nut, couldn't get enough purchase on it to crack it...
to be fair once the coolant residue was cleaned off the block is all the same at the front side, its been sitting leaking for a couple of weeks as ive not had time to get near it which is why all the dried in coolant residue is around the sump etc.
one thing I will say, its unrelated to laid up cover and more for normal cover but I found a company that let me mirror my NCB, so I done that, and then at the end of the year they send me proof of NCB for my full entitlement so I got a renewal from both companies with full NCB. - Not sure if...
I gave it a full service, the oil filter was SOLID, I couldn't budge it, had my massive water pump pliers on it and they slipped and caught the outlet pipe from the water pump and now I had a coolant leak, of course to get any access to see what was wrong it was the front end, alternator and...
needs the front bumper painted, the rear bumper painted and of course a wheel refurb (more on that later)
Interior was in good nick just needing a good clean!
the heat wave hit so idea for a good shampoo and wet vac! Brought the seats up much better
white bits on the seats got a pressure...
Bought this a few months ago with the intention of building a Meglio - It was an excellent base, FF with Cup pack, straight shell, bodywork and wheels in need of TLC and service history lost! But then I left my last job so decided to tidy it up and shift it on and free up the cash, so that's...
as above yeah you can just remove it, remember you will need to get someone with an ac machine to remove any left over gas that's pressurising the system if there's any left, because it would be REALLY REALLY irresponsible to remember to wear gloves and remove the cap over the valve and use a...
