It's years since I seen one with the smaller discs I assume it's a 8v model?
Should be a case of front hubs, calipers, discs and front shocks as I'm sure the smaller disc models use 52mm bolt spacing on the front shocks as opposed to 58mm
I'd just use dci80 bottom end, I don't rate the jr5 always felt it ruined the dci100 that's why I preferred my 80. A Jc5 with 4th engine mount is perfect imo
If I was going widetrack I'd convert over to a jc5, it's a nicer box to use imo with better suited ratios but a bit of work moving back over to the gear linkage and cable clutch
Do some research on ktecs mapping reputation, I'm not sure if it's changed in the last few years but if it hasn't I wouldn't go near them.
I love their parts always had great service but the mapping side of things had a terrible reputation
Massively improved mid range, better idle, raised rev limit, easy to do, great software.
For the price of a map out the back of wee Jimmy's remap van (with his maps he buys from Greece) you are getting a properly developed map where the mapper has also developed the hardware and software to...
I believe they can be re programmed for a new car but the cost is pretty much the same as just buying a new one, I've always bought a new one and have about 6 old ones lying in my toolbox ?
A dci 80 will remap to around 105-110hp and 180lbft. I used superchips bluefin, plug it in, upload your standard map to it, plug it into pc and their software sends your map to them, they will either have a match for it or write one for you within a few hours, download the map onto the handheld...
Good find, if it's just injectors then your a set of injectors away from 130hp and 190lbft, has someone confirmed the injectors are different?
Dacia duster intercooler will be a direct swap it's larger
If it's a diesel which hopefully it is as the petrol ones are a bit naff then full throttle in 4th or 5th gear up a motorway sliproad and get it up over 4000rpm to make sure there is no warning lights.
Mk3s were having issues with rusty subframes not sure how widespread they are
Typical tuning box then, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Better even with a cheap remap, it's such a common and old engine that even cheap generic maps are generally massively tried and tested and work fine.
Yeah agreed, nice to have something that blends in but you know is a little special. Watch for superchips doing no vat sale on a bluefin for it, transforms the mid range performance on them
Does it load the map though? Tunit has "maps" but it's not loading them, they are not even ECU maps they are using the map term, but in reality it's 1-9 or something on how harsh it is on the fuel pump! They CANNOT control boost.
