that was my issue, the fact my engine failed didn't bother me, I had had enough 2.0 clios to know that it was just plain bad luck that it failed, my issue was the fact they made a complete mess of putting it right, and even although the dealer that done the work told me "we don't want to see you...
even if it was legal the hastle with removing the diffuser etc would be not worth it.
roof box it is! im getting roof bars for my DCI for sticking a gokart on!
after the hastle I had with Renault UK and there terrible dealer network this does not surprize me, feel for the poor guy as at least I got my 200 back in just about drivable enough condition to drive to the dealership to trade in
I ended up with my first one as my first car was a 1.2 dynamique and the thought of a rapid 2.0 one was too much to resist bought one a few months before my 18th bday, ive been in them ever since and im now 25. Had a ph1, 2x ph2's a 200 and now a 182 trophy
As above the wheel only goes one way as it has one spline thats different from the others, even if you could you would still be better doing the above and getting it on a hunter or similar
I like cup dampers and eibachs (ive never tried cooksports) that mixed with fresh bushes, track rods, rod ends etc is brilliant on the road.
im running 182 cup dampers with trophy eibachs the now while my Sachs are being rebuilt and its brilliant!
got a set of 182 hubs and brakes for my DCI...
the boost limit to keep torque down is purely for traction, Renault TCE engines have it too, its because of how quickly you can build boost in lower gears, it will break traction very easy, along with id imagine stress out driveshafts and the likes that excessive wheelspin does!
my 1.2 TCE...
rstuner would be my choice ive ran it on my 3 172s and my 182 along with one of my twingos!
raised idle to sort the lumpy idle
VVT enabled from startup to smooth it out when cold
more mid range torque gets rid of the 4000-5000rpm flat spot
Not sure why you would want to lower it? Its still climbing the power curve on the limiter!
Green stuffs are hopeless i like mintex m1144 others like various others but ive never tried any others
ive owned them all, im not convinced the 100 has uprated internals that's what I don't believe. as I said it was started when edde posted it one day but no idea where he got it from so it could for all we know be noncence.
a 20bhp gain to me is not enough to re engineer the internals of the engine.
im running these too, my bolt to hub bolts are square headed and the holes on the spacer are also squared so that the bolts counter sink into them and sit flush
6 months ago id have agreed with you! but I want to keep this one 100% factory original.
got a set of xenons sitting here for the dci too! just cba fitting them! lol
Cheers guys im loving it, waiting on cornering force getting back to me about damper refurb and i need to change the front brakes as they are horrible.
Proper mint wee car just the suspension and brakes were both shot! But i could see passed that and knew how much potential it has!
I got lined paper ripped out a note pad with "engine oil changed, plugs ok" wrote on it and a bill for a cambelt change "using genuine Renault parts" for £207!!
I was wiling to pay his asking price if it all checked out right but I had to ask him 3 times for the service history and when I asked...
that the one in wales? I was trying to buy it last week but the guy wasn't playing ball! I basically said I want it, but I need to see decent pics of it as the ebay ones are small and pics of all the service history to back up the full service history before I commit to booking a flight or train...
the megane used 2 different engines afaik the 100 and the 106hp, the 100 is the same as the clio lump, the 106 is the same as the mk3 clio with the 6 speed box.
im not sure on bell housing pattern so not sure how easy it is to use a JC5 gearbox on a 100 engine, as that way you can use the more...
