thanks, have to admit that i just looked back, majority of the time you tend to focus what's in front of you and a lot of the time now i look pretty much 360o sometimes the best shot is what's behind you. This was the first shot of many as i wanted it better but the tide and effect of the lines...
Just 2 of many i took, too much pollution. Looks like going to be another clear night on Saturday. I'm tempted to go near the moors or something in the west away from city's. This time try and get some better ones.
Star Meteor Night 2. by Mark Geddes, on Flickr
First attempt at Astro photography and i'm really chuffed apart from the light pollution. With the naked eye where your seeing was pure black apart from the odd star and in camera was light pollution. Took about 50 shots. some are blurred and wonky...
there's little to no noise as Liam said crank up the ISO to get more stars. I started out at 1600 and for a few shots i maxed out at 3200 ISO and see more stars but was really frosty.
My flat mate turned up in his car with his camera and tripod to have a look and never got set up and left 45...
What's the best was to edit sky photo's highlights to -100 and clarity to +100 ??
just crancked up the the White and f**king hell you can the way more stuff the outline off what ever i'm looking at lol. Really exiting stuff this like
only on the first shot and i'm already exited
You done really well @C.J better then me at getting more stars.
I did go out last night, left the flat at around 22:15 and go there around 22:30, where we were is the highest point in Durham. There was quit a few cars and people looking i was qui suprised to see that many people. I went in a...
Very nice Matt, you can tell the picture quality like. I think the best one is the second one from top then top. All still good by the way. Love the mist
Really good job to get on there, looks really sharp and in focus too, nice compo too. So jelous, i've never been on there. Suppose to be really hard to get photo's on there. They say it's pot luck like
Yeah i've got a 32bit windows pc. I've got photoshop elements 11 and it's basic stuff. I would like a newer pc for editing and 64bit bigger storage and decent gfx card if i need that for editing i don't know.
Waterfall At The Lakes by Mark Geddes, on Flickr
Had this for a while, i didn't think it was a great shot but i kept it. Thought i'd waste time an edit it lol. If i had Lightroom i'd would of gotten rid of the branch on the right as it's distracting the "S" shape leading line from bottom left to...
My Picture on Local TV by Mark Geddes, on Flickr
I sent ITV another 2 pics the other week and they viewed the Durham Cathedral shot last Tuesday. I didn't it was going to be showed until someone told me at a shop that they saw my image on tv
you took a few eh, which is what i do, different angles and compositions and so on. The two on the far left in the middle, got nice lighting on the bails and ground and nice sky too. Nice set of images like. I'd like to see that one edit
I like the first one like, could use the top one and send it to Sony to promote the A7?. Just my opinion like, i would get a shot like a tunnel effect of bails to use up the full width of the shot. from left to right say. could do a 70 of the sky and 30 of the round bails and get up close to the...
Too late i deleted it, i'm a bit OCD having 2 the same pics next to each other lol. I remember you mentioned Lightroom 4 and i looked on amazon but it's no longer available and i haven't looked on some certain sites cough cough. Don't do that any more. Lightroom 4 should do me fine. Does that...
thanks Aaron, when i was using the sliders on the highlights i was up and down siloute and +20 one or the other didn't want too much detail on the bottom. this time round i did+45 on highlights i didn't wan't to over expose the highlights. I was literrly going to walk off i thought it was a no...
What are your opinions or comments on the sunset picture above? In my opinion I'm really pleased with it, didn't want a great deal of brightness on the foreground just a hint. I expected to have a little more interest in Flickr .
thanks for looking but but, still far from being any good lol. Only been doing it for 8 months now. I would try and take the pictures late in the day for best lighting don't want a good picture of the car and got burnt out sky in the background, overcast days and use the natural lighting or if...
nice camera for you first DLSR, i'm sure it's got a flip LCD screen, will you be using it for cars too like? First thing i would do is use the AV button, the camera will adjust the shutter speed and you cantrol the aperture (depth of field) low f number more blur higher f number less blur. If...
had 10 on my pc for 2 or 3 days and didn't like, duplicate folders of stuff in different places and could remove the dup folder and it was slower when browsing. Got sick and now back to 7.
Haven't had a wow pic for a while now, I've been following this guy got a little while, don't think he's posted for a while either. Fantastic photo's i've faved a hell of a lot of them. Not too many as i'll be there all day lol.
Here's his link https://www.flickr.com/photos/braid44/
As Aaron...
you do make some good write ups like, and saw your pics with your new Sony they are really sharp like, they ooze quality far better than your 500D. I still got my 500D like and 5D mk3 is the way to go don't think the 6D is the one unless the mk2 is better.
You made a good choice on the A7ii...
Yeah nice pictures there, my favourite is the first one. I can't see any noise like. I guess it's hard to picture birds.
Took this the other day with my new 17-40mm Canon L lens
Durham Cathedral by Mark Geddes, on Flickr
that's incredible that, with the 55-250mm lens you say? amazing you can get that close with it, is it cropped too to make it bigger? I'd really like to get into star photography and a moon shot like is something worth really getting into
