Thats what l do.Just swapped my fronts to the back etc and get much less understeer in the wet.Use to do this on my 205gti and never had any problems.....and we know how bad they are for lift-off oversteer !

Its bigger and heavier but according to most feels more planted.If l was you and was interested l'd go and try one....thats the only way you'll find out.
Those 'older' hot-hatches were great.Even though my 182 is better at everything than my old 205gti it doesn't have that kart-like feel and precision.
Can a 182 Cup be modded to have that kind of feel?
I would keep the 182 for a while.If it gets paid for save for a while and you should be able to go for a higher value car....maybe a mint Escort Cosworth or Lancia Integrale.
If it has to be something new maybe wait for this 300bhp RS Focus thats on the cards.

First one was on friday night at 5,40 on the M60 clockwise...was a RB 182 SLAMMED! You had the EVO sticker in the same place as me on the back window.
Second was today on the M60 heading anti-clockwise on the opposite side to me....you also had...
