hmm, the clamp is a kind of S-shaped bracket is it not? As I'm having real difficulty tightening it up to the battery. It is the correct battery and the same as the one that came out; 063.

Just had a quick look, and the lead going from the back of the head unit sprouts into two sockets - both of which are different shapes from one another, so can't be swapped. I'm guessing I need a new (iso?) lead.

Phew - sorted it. The release cable seemed pretty tight, so I pushed it towards the hole that the 'pin' in the bonnet goes and the locking mechanism re-appeared. Surely not the right way, but it'll do. cheers guys.

It "shuts" as in the bonnet goes into place and the pull release is locked - but its not flush with the rest of the body and can still be just re opened by lifting the pull lever underneath. Gah I've bought a lemon haven't I.
