As I have no easy way of measuring AFR's, my comparison will be purely based on RSTuner Data Logs and hoping there's a measurable difference.
What can I say? It handles like it's on rails and is very neutral. Takes a bit of provoking to get it out of shape.
You'd be the first person to...
Thanks for all the comments guys!
I'd rather we not go ahead and have an argument between traders on the pro/con's of leaving the bolt out, leave that for another thread. It will be going in more for cosmetic reasons more than anything. Will be painting the upper mount and rocker cover at some...
Alrighty, so this isn't the first time I'm posting photos - but it's had a somewhat major change so I think it's worthwhile starting a new one.
The important spec list atm is as follows: JMS RS2 inlet, RSTuner Custom Map, Bilstein B14, Wilwood 4 pots, Whiteline ARB, 100 cell metal cat, K-Tec...
Just a picture update - took this on the way back from camping with a few mates earlier this week. Will have a major update in a couple of weeks time though ;)
Check the spark plugs are all done up tight. I had a ticking noise from my engine develop a few weeks ago that wasn't bad enough to cause any performance drop/rough idling. Turned out #1 Cylinder Spark Plug was almost a full turn loose. Torqued it back up and the noise was gone.
In Australia at least, the rule specifies you must give way to vehicles already in the roundabout. So in this case, the 'bus' was doing nothing illegal.
So, a few updates.
Few weeks ago I had a package arrive on my doorstep, granted it was a few months late due to UPS losing it... but we got there in the end :D
A K-Tec Recessed Supersport. It's lovely. Car definitely has more mid-range and sounds awesome to boot. Droney as f**k when on light...
Biggest difference I noticed with the Wilwoods (I've got the Dynapro caliper and using Pagid RS4-2 pads) was the brake feel. For me, they're far more linear. But that being said, I fitted braided lines with the Wilwoods, so that may have made a difference too.
In terms of stopping power...
Eh? If you bought them for Kam Racing then they should definitely fit.
I'm running near enough -2.7 deg camber at the front with +3.8 degrees castor and standard at the back (around -1.5 deg camber). Front is with AST tops and camber bolts
Attended a dyno day last Saturday organised by a hot hatch club here in Melbourne.
Mods are 98 RON map from RSTuner, ITG Maxogen intake, 100 cell metal cat and a Devil catback with a hole right after the middle silencer
Keep in mind this is power figure of 107.3 kW (144hp) is at the...
Unfortunately we only got 85 Ph 1's in Australia, so they're a bit of a rare sight.
Yes, there's a few... not many though.
Good to finally have usable high ISO :D Stupid amounts of detail due to the resolution too.
Cheers to everyone for the comments :)
Ah, in person it's very different. It just looks different due to the processing on the photo.
Thanks for all the comments guys! Interestingly enough, earlier today I got a phone call from Renault Australia wanting to buy the rights to use 6 of the photos for marketing purposes... be...
Also - you can't really compare your stock figure vs the RS2 due to the fact they were done on different dynos (calibration will always be different, even if they are both DD) and the compensation factor for drive train losses could be different.
Is there any chance the throttle body hasn't been lined up properly? IIRC one of the other RS2 cars produced sub standard figures and it turned out the TB wasn't lined up properly.
Late 172's and all 182's had RS stamped lower inlets. They supposedly have slightly larger ports than the non-RS stamped ones.
Also - you really *are* retarded if you can't search. "RS stamped inlet" results in plenty of relevant threads...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Been following this with a lot of interest - your car is rather similar in a few areas! Same colour, same tyres, same brakes, soon to be same intake and same exhaust!
Car is absolutely mint! Love it.
Either get it lubed up or replace it.
One of the best things I've done to my Clio was changing the 172 clutch cable with a 182 item - slightly lighter but the difference in terms of smoothness is night and day.
