Hmm. Strange. Have you tried disconnecting the grey connectors and putting resistors in them? So you can remove the possibility of it being a problem with the Pre-tensioners. Doubt it'd be the position sensors. most people cut them off iirc. I have put up a full picture guide in the guides...

Under the seats, the black connectors, you need to bridge the two coloured wires in each. The black wire is simply an earth. Did you say you'd left the pretensioners connected up?

You should be fine mate. Sportlines won't have lowered enough to have to worry about wheel scrubbing.

You can get away with standard bolts on <5mm . Best bet is Clio specific ones, with an exact 60.1 centre bore and 4x100 bolt pattern.

Yea just use a longer bar, so you have more leverage. Or slip a pole on the end of your ratchet. and WD40 or similar.

Put the torx screw back in, but loosely, so the boss can come out a bit. Then bang the boss/steering wheel backwards, wiggle it side to side, so it works off. By leaving the torx screw in, when it pops free it won't come flying off, ripping of sensors and god knows what.
