What do you mean "switches itself off" - does it actually turn off as in, the light on the front goes red?
I was thinking maybe it was the auto standby, but then, it gave me a message when it did it on my Sky+ box.. (press select to continue viewing or similar)
That's not typical Apple though.. my old Macbook Pro, I had for a year, and now my mate has it, is still as awesome as it was the day I bought it.

If people understood the true cost of a 50Mb connection, it'd soon become clear that Virgin will *HAVE* to traffic shape it to hell and run at around 1Mb so they can make some money.
Otherwise, they'd be out of business.. quickly.

If you can afford a day downtime, then you'll be fine with most connections. If it does go down for even more, you could always have a dial-up as a backup!
I doubt you'd see much benefit from your usage you describe, by going for a high end business connection :)

If the internet is that important, you want to be looking at a proper business ISP, with proper business support.
Something along the lines of Easynet or similar.. would be looking at around £200/£250 a month though for ADSL 8Mb.
