Ah, not bad then - wasn't that easy on an MBP if I remember..
My MBP did get super hot.. but the faster drives don't tend to add heat as such.. :) (Just battery drain, and even that is neglible)
There's absolutely no reason to use Tiger now Leopard is out.
I had the 7200rpm drive in my old Macbook Pro - was really good.. I'd imagine opening a Macbook would be a pain tho.
FPS in some random game isn't the best comparison of performance.
You're still on the same hardware, so it'd be unlikely to be different.
I'm (and millions of others) are on about using the operating system.. and that's where Vista is slower.
SP1 is supposed to fix a lot of the issues though...
In terms of performance, SP1 probably helped a little bit.. but not loads.
Maybe the Beta stuff had debugging turned on, which didn't help.. but I was majorly disappointed with it myself.

Haha. WTF?
A few choice ones.
Run fewer programs at the same time
You what? Are you really suggesting I change the way I use a computer?!?
Turn off visual effects
And that, uh, leaves me with...
You can.
Whether or not I'd trust a VoIP trunk for mission critical phones, I dunno. I'd be very tempted to use VoIP internally.. and then ISDN lines for external calls.
I started using it for my final year project.
Felt all cool.. then I realised Word worked better than Writer overall.. so went back to that.
It's very good though.. but an Office (2003/2007) replacement? Not yet.. but that might be me :)
Depends if you need high upload etc.
I've installed and used their ADSL (lots), their Surestream (quite a bit) and also one of their Etherstreams (10Mb) and all perform flawlessly. (Providing you're LLU'd)
Sure, they do have routing issues.. (their network can be flaky) but.. on the whole, very...
1) Easynet - either ADSL, SDSL, SureStream or Etherstream. My experience with load balanced ADSL Max lines is far from great.. we have two Max lines and it's being replaced by a single Easynet ADSL. The Easynet ADSL is far more stable, much quicker etc.. but that might be the implementation...
Nonsense.
Not getting into this thing again :p
Buy the cheapest.. unless it's a major long run. If anyone says a 0.5m HDMI cable costing £100 is better than a £5 which has no artifacts etc, they're selling you the cable (or have bought one and trying to justify it)
Hi.
Driving just now, and I hear this very faint squeeling starting when moving along at slow speed. The noise goes away when I brake at the end of the road.
So I'm going along, and it's getting worse and worse, but stops every time I break. Eventually the noise is always there, braking...
It's just a Netgear DG834G(T?) really.. :)
(Which, out of all the consumer ADSL routers, is about the best IMO - well the DG834G is..)
Is the 834GT the new router? As opposed to the 834G?
PMSL.
Seriously, Who's going to make the sane decision, give everyone unshaped 2Mb and be done with it? Really?
There's no neeeeeeeeeeeed to bring out higher speed packages.. especially when you have to FUP them up to stay in business.
Comet were doing £99 for the box, and £30 install at Christmas.. (As long as you took Sky Talk out at the same time.. (altho the basic Sky Talk is free each month))
