Thanks Steve, yes, I've bought some silver caliper paint, along with some new Brembo front pads and OMP front discs. I replaced the rear discs, bearings and pads a couple of months ago with Brembo items, so they're holding up pretty well so far, just the calipers to paint on the rears. The...
Thanks Mark, yeah, the Heko's didn't suit it at all, it was a bit of an impulse buy, they're sold now anyway.
The plate looks better too, but that just reminded me - I need to take it off for the MOT on Wednesday. Really need to paint the calipers too as they look awful under the new wheels...
Quick update, I really felt that the Turini's on the car let it down, so I was contemplating getting them refurbed, but I saw a mint set of Turini's come up in the classified's last week from @Dr Jekyll - Top bloke BTW :)
They're finished in a metallic anthracite colour and look almost new with...
Steve, do you have the part numbers for the Renault boot badges by any chance? I need the Renault one, but may replace all 3 if I can avoid paying dealer prices :)
Yes, I'll follow your thread buddy to see how it goes :)
Re. the footrest, no, its an aftermarket piece, it was the closest part I could find to match the OEM pedals. I think from memory if just fits over the top of the plastic OEM cover. Remove the existing hex screw, place the new alloy...
Hope all goes well for the install Steve, let us know how you get on, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it once you have the car back. And places you trust with your car are few and far between, so good to know and keep using places like that
Thanks Steve, it is rewarding doing it yourself, and helps me at least understand a bit more about how these cars are put together. Lots of colourful language mind :rage: and obviously your own time, but I got to clean dusty bits of the dash and air vents which would've been hard to clean...
Lol both of you  I will probably take off the yellow wee wee fogs and the fuel cap at some point, I was just messing with bits that 'stuck on' haha. I think I'm following my 'JDM street' past, which this is obviously not. I'll maybe get it back to stock, as I think that's where the...
Thanks Chris
A few pics of bits and bats, new tweeters:
I had to trim the original tweeter mounts in order to get the Alpine's in nice and snug so they sit just fine under the OEM speaker grilles.
Door speakers:
And all back together looking stock:
Probably a little more time...
Yeah, may take it off, it doesn't look as clean does it, I'll have a play about with it tomorrow.
I installed some new Alpine SPG-13CS component speakers today in the front. The front door speakers went in fine along with some DEI speaker baffles to enhance the weight of the bass and also...
If you're unsure and your code reader is not giving any indication as to what exactly is at fault, I would first start searching Google for people who've had similar problems in the past. Maybe you can find someone who's been in a similar situation and resolved it.
If you've already done that...
Weight reduction bro! :)
Seriously, don't know if I'll keep it on or not, the cars colour is maybe too light for it. I think of it as a kind of beauty spot :tongueout:
Ok, so new OEM Renault 172 Cup shocks all round, new top mounts front and rear, along with Eibach Proline springs.
Don't think the rear has dropped that much, if at all really, but the front is certainly lower. The car feels much more responsive in the bends now, it was pretty twitchy...
Ok, so not updated this thread in a while, but the Cup is still going strong. oil change and service just completed, new genuine Renault Cup rear shocks installed, and new front OEM Cup shocks awaiting install along with Eibach lowering springs, hopefully to be completed tomorrow.
I also...
