Yeah, that Firenza sounded angry, I wasn't expecting that sound to be made by the Firenza when it first started up!!
Wish there were more like that nowadays :(
Nice pics :) I saw your car yesterday but must have missed you, it looks in good shape, really tidy that.
Did you hear that WRC Escort Cosworth rally car? That was insane!
Yeah, probably see you tomorrow then, I'll be in the Iceberg Cup if you venture over, there are some pretty unique 5's there on the stand tomorrow too. May see you around :)
Is anyone attending this weekend? I'll be there tomorrow on the Combustion Punks stand, hopefully the weather will hold out. A great event in you're in the area, highly recommended!

The wheel bolts on my 172 cup are looking way past their best, so I'm looking for some new ones, preferably locking.
I was going to go for some Renault OE ones, but just wondering if anyone has bought any other aftermarket bolts and had good experiences with them?
Don't want cheap Chinese ones...
Ah, Smokey & The Bandit style ;)
The stubby doesn't look right, and I want an OEM look, so may try and find cheap one on eBay and have a play.
Thanks gents :)
Bit of a strange question, but can anyone tell me what type of OEM aerial came on the RS Clio cup circa 2003?
Mine has a short stubby thing on it and was wondering if it's standard or not, although I think it might not be?
Or Did the 172 Cups come with the standard long aerial from the rest of...
I installed my stealth system with brand new OEM hangers from Renault a few months ago. They seem to be holding up fine, not had any experience with any others though.
The middle one is a smaller red one with a metal bracket, the rear is the larger metal bracket with the rubber bushing bonded...
Installed mine and whilst firm, there is more vibration inside the car, making it much more of a raw experience. Gear change and power delivery a little firmer though, doesn't feel like the power train is under as much torsion compared with the standard mount.
The drivers side of the engine...
Ok, so I managed this by unclipping the bottom seat cover and removing it along with the foam base. Just need to swap it with the other seat and some hog ring pliers now to clip the old base back to the new seat.
I was just wondering if it is easy to remove the front seat bases from the back rest part of the seats?
I've got some newer seats for my 172 and they're in better condition than those currently in the car. However, the newer dirvers one has a very small cigarette burn on the base, I want to...
Nice work on the car, it sits really well, looking great compared to how it first looked. Much inspiration from this thread, will be following
BTW, re clutch: mine did that last week when I had it in the air. I turned it over after doing the aux belt and oil to check all was ok, noticed...
Yes, not sure on the fogs myself, it's only that laminex stuff, so may remove.
Tyres next week, then exhaust to be ordered as I haven't done it yet, I've had to divert some car funds to my other car this week.
Once they're done, I'll get the suspension bits sorted, looking to do a bit of a...
Cheers buddy, do you have a link?
Anyway, went for a bit of a drive tonight after work, this car shifts and runs so much better than it did prior to the service and addition of the induction kit. Nearly found the limit of the f@ckwang tyres or whatever they are on a semi damp corner though, not...
Thanks gents, the colour is a strange one, in some lights it looks just silver, but in others it looks a like the blue ice colour you see on glaciers.
Suppose that's why it's called iceberg silver ☺
New tyres should be on next week, I don't trust the budgets on it right now in the wet!
The best I've seen in my 172 cup ph2 is 46mpg according to the trip computer. That was my motorway journey to work and back on a steady 50-70mph with a bit of stop start in between.
Not sure how accurate that is, but well impressed if it is anywhere near!
Just a quick update, I managed to give the car a good service this weekend with some fresh Elf 5w40 oil, as I wasn't sure when it was done last. Also replaced the oil filter with a genuine Renault one, along with genuine sump plug and washer, also new Renault/NGK plugs and auxiliary belt, which...
I'm going to change the aux belt on my 172 cup ph2 soon, and just wondered if there's any special tools ill need?
I'm removing the front bumper to replace the lights anyway, so planning to do it then.
Is it pretty straight forward with there being no A/C ?
I've looked for a guide but I can't...
